My cousin is having her second boy in June, and is trying to come up with a name. She is veto-ing everything I come up with.

Any gems?

Zadok.

Curiously underused

lljkk · 21/01/2009 17:20

Theo would be quite unusual around here .
How do I know if a name is 'wacky'? I like Freddie (Alfred or Frederick, personally).

? Otis, Tristan, Orville, Elliot, Stuart, Raymond, Edgar, Todd, Paul, Nigel, Simon, Arthur, Archie (Archibald), Martin, Ashton.

Common 30+ years ago, but virtually unheard of nowadays: Ian, Keith, Craig, Darren, John, Mark, Trevor.

Umlellala · 21/01/2009 16:56

Skyler?

VersdeSociete · 21/01/2009 16:51

"steve" pretty unusual amongst new babies. Mo is interesting.

TheStatueOfLiffey · 21/01/2009 16:49

When she says unusual, does she know what is Usual?? (cos Theo is in the top something I'm sure)

VersdeSociete · 21/01/2009 16:44

Marlon is not bad? Maybe not "the glob"

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 21/01/2009 16:42

I'm not sure, she's trying to think of something to put her dh off the name Freddie, which he is adamant about.

kevin, leslie, alan, derek - so unusual! you can bet there won't be tons of those in each class! or did your sister actually mean fashionable?

NorktasticNinja · 21/01/2009 16:40

Cassius I love, it was top of our list before I found out it meant empty / vain

Yannick is DPs name, am bias about that one...

VersdeSociete · 21/01/2009 16:40

The lack of punctuation is from the lyrics website, ...

VersdeSociete · 21/01/2009 16:39

"Susie, jesus, bogart, sam, leslie, jill and jeff
Rita, winny, andy, fran and jet
Boris, bono, lucy, ethel, bunny, reg and tom
Thats a lot of names to try not to forget

Carrie, marlon, mo and steve, la rue and jerry lee
Eggplant, rufus, dummy, star and the glob
Id need a damn computer to keep track of all these names
I hope this baby thing dont go too far"
From Lou Reed's Beginning of a Great Adventure. anything useful there? Obviously some are girls' names..
