I HATE 'creative' spellings but there seem to be so many alternatives to Isobel - Isabel, Isabelle etc. Which one do you think is the best?

I like Isabelle because of the 'belle', beautiful bit.

Isobel very pretty name.

I like Isobel best, I think it's the Irish versiuon?

An Irish friend has a daughter called Isobel and shortens it to Iso (Izzo), which is nice and can't be done with the A spelling.

Tidey · 18/01/2009 10:16

I prefer it with an A, because I focus in on the fact it has 'sob' in it otherwise. It's an unhappy looking name spelled that way.

kerala · 18/01/2009 10:15

Isobel. Lovely name as long as you fine with the fact it is very popular. There are lots of Isobels (spelt in varous ways!) around here.

NoBiggy · 18/01/2009 10:15

Isobel.

The varaitions of Isabel make me think Spanish.

lillypie · 18/01/2009 10:11

I think Isobel is perfect too

violethill · 18/01/2009 10:10

As you have done: Isobel.

Isabel makes me think.. 'Is a bell?....'

Isabelle is too frilly

Isobel : perfect!

lunavix · 18/01/2009 10:07

lunavix · 18/01/2009 10:07
