Luke, Isaac, William or Ash?

Finally I think we have narrowed it down to these 4. But would just like the general opinion and preference on them please?

I'm due in 5 weeks and it has taken us this long to decide on this short list!

Many thanks xxxx

Luke
Isaac
William
Ash
is my order of preference but I don't actively dislike any of them.

Wow, didn't see your message before I posted but I thoroughly approve! Hope you are both well

suwoo · 27/01/2009 12:32

Congratulations Dinkymum. You didn't get to relax much on your mat leave then before he arrived!

fizzpops · 27/01/2009 12:26

Isaac and William - both were on my list.

dinkymum · 27/01/2009 10:50

Hi, know this was a while ago now but I always wish ppl would say on name posts that I contribute too, it was a litte early (36 weeks) si had even less time than we thought but baby Isaac Christopher was born on the 19th!
Its absoloutely perfect for him and I don't think he could possibly be anything else!

Thanks for all your help!

big hugs xxx

Isaac/Zak , thats what I'd have liked dd to be were she a boy

Pannacotta · 14/01/2009 21:36

Luke

mooseloose · 14/01/2009 21:35

Lets hope she's not called Mrs Muffin or something then!

My ds was destined to be Jack or Jake. It was a dead cert. But when he was born there was no way on earth that name 'looked' right on him. Two days later he was called 'callum - out of nowhere the name came. And by gum - it's him all over now! Funny isn't it!

have a nice relaxing day tomorow! Enjoy xx

Sorry not responded sooner been really busy with work etc but start mat leave tomorrow! Wahoo!
Thanks for the replies. Think its down to Isaac or Luke but probably wont know til we see him. we've decided that the middle name will just have to be inspired at the time lol
DH has the middle name Robert as this was the midwifes surname and i kinda like that idea... We'll just see if the theory works lol

Isaac is my favourite.
Would be top of my list if I were to have another DS

littleboyblue · 10/01/2009 18:45

Hi dinkymum We've settled on Luke for this one. Dp liked the name Isaac but we already have a Jacob so I felt it would be far too biblical but I do like it. Dp's name is Ashley.

dinkymum · 10/01/2009 18:37

Thanks ever so much! We have had a think and have come to realise as lovey as William is we dont think we can really use as it doesnt work with our DD's name. In a haze of trying to find names we both like we hadnt consider it much further.
Ash was always a little bit of an outsider. I actually like Ashby but this is probably hormones dh really doesnt like it but then ages after on his list came up with Ash.
Luke and Isaac, We both like, I prefer one, DH the other.
I darent ask ppl I know in RL so I appreciate all the responses. They're all very useful and appreciated and are really helping us. Thank you!

Luke

SpeccieSeccie · 09/01/2009 22:47

Every baby boy born in 2008 that we knew (bar only one) has been called William. DH got two Williams as godchildren (so that's two out of three godchildren and the other's a girl). It is a classic and it is lovely but your DS will definitely not be the only Billy/Will/William in his class. Though that probably doesn't matter, and wouldn't necessarily bother me.

Isaac!

pointydog · 09/01/2009 22:36

I am fond of Billy (William)

OlaMamas · 09/01/2009 22:33

Have a very gorgeous Isaac of my own.... so slightly biased! However 16 months and not sleeping thru yet.... so hope its nothing to do with name choice!!!! It is so hard. Me and hubby had tonnes of girls names and had to compromise on boys names. DH wanted Harrisson and I wanted Archie... so ended up with an Isaac! which he totally suits. Good luck X

janeite · 09/01/2009 22:25

No Ash. The others are nice enough but the only one I love is Luke.

nula · 09/01/2009 22:23

Not Ash, others nice

dizzydixies · 09/01/2009 22:17

William as Will or Isaac both lovely choices

Nancy66 · 09/01/2009 22:16

Ash is horrible - might as well call him Benson or Marlborough

others are nice

happywomble · 09/01/2009 21:50

oh please don't use Ash..it makes me think of the embers of a fire.

The other names are lovely - like William best.

princessmel · 09/01/2009 21:45

Luke

Ash is my least fave.
