Long names that can be shortened to Annie

I like the name Annie but dh thinks names should be long versions which can then be shortened. I don't like Annabel though and Angela/Angelica/Angelina are out.

Can Susannah become Annie do you think?

Any others?

Thanks

Hello - thanks everyone.

Angela out because we know one who is horrid.

Annabel out because is name of DH's ex girlfriend from long ago but agreed these names would be out!

I love love love Annis known as Annie but Dh doesn't.

Annie stand alone is good I think and turns out it is name of a greatgreatgrandmother of mine who I never knew so can pretend family thing too.

Mooddog?!

Oh sorry, you don't like Annabel! I think Susannah is just crying out to be Susie really.

What about just Anna on the birth cert and then let it 'evolve' into Annie. To keep your husband happy. I don't see why Annie is any less of a name than Phoebe or Ruby or any of the other millions of names that end in 'ee' sound.

LiffeyAgSnamhAnLaCoille · 29/12/2008 21:14

Annabel is the only one I really like. Annabel/Annie would be gorgeous though.

Of course Anna and Anne can also be Annie.

Anneliese is OK but nobody can spell it. Anastasia is overkill.
