Pearl or Dora

Still struggling with girls names for baby due in weeks. Any thoughts on these?
I know Dora is a little spoilt by 'the explorer' but I really like it as a name!

Neither for me I'm afraid. If I had to choose, then Pearl is better than Dora. I had a colleague called Dora and she was vile .

I wouldn't be put off by the explorere connection. I particularly think Dora's "mami", the archaeologist, is a great role model in a world awash with Barbie princesses...

I really don't like Pearl, I don't like the sound or how it feels to say iykwim.
I like Dora, would use Theodora though

Mny thanks for replies so far. It confirms what I was worried about really which is a shame as it's such a nice name otherwise!

I think Dora could be around for a while yet thanks to the loud talking explorer. Shame as it is pretty.
I like Pearl though - out of the two it has my vote too. Very pretty, not weird, classic yet unusual enough to make it stand out. x

But i do really like Pearl...

I think you're right about Dora being ruined really. Pearl is very pretty though.
