Can you call a girl Eve if you already have an Adam - or is that naff?

I have two boys with very biblical names, love the name Eve but already have an Adam. Would it be stupid to call our next baby if it's a girl Eve? would Evie be a good compromise???

well Im going to be different and say yes I would if I could have got dh along with it (Adam was one of our possible boys names) but you could if you really like the idea of Eve go with the Gaelic Aoife (pro Efa) it is according to popular belief the Gaelic version of Eve..

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 28/12/2008 13:58

LOL at Adam 'n' Niamh

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 28/12/2008 13:56

Not naff just a bit peculiar and they would face a lifetime of incest jokes. Viv Hope in Emmerdale called her twins Cathy and Heathcliff in a similar vein.

How about Lilith?

chandellina · 28/12/2008 13:54

i don't see the big deal - if you like the names, go for it.

incest - oh please - they are just names.

PlonkerTeatowelOnTheirHeads · 27/12/2008 22:43

I wouldn't, no.

ceciliaaherne · 27/12/2008 22:43

Bessie123 · 27/12/2008 22:42

Ha ha ha ha. Yeah, do it. DO IT.

piscesmoon · 27/12/2008 22:42

Definitely naff.

Dottoressa · 27/12/2008 22:41

No, no, no.

Give Evie a miss, too (too popular!)

no too cutsey,trying too hard

Yurtgirl · 27/12/2008 21:54

Naff imo

Boulders · 27/12/2008 21:53

Nice names but NOT for siblings. It sounds worse than a bit naff, it would be weird. They would get incest type comments.

Nemostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 27/12/2008 21:53

sounds silly
we have an adam and I love the names eve and niamh but decided against that.

foxinsocks · 27/12/2008 21:52

it is a law of pregnancy that you are allowed stupid name choices as long as you have come to your senses by the time the child is born

TheRealMrsOsborne · 27/12/2008 21:50

Foxinsocks

Right i better start thinking of something else. I did know it would be daft really but just needed to check with MN first

cece · 27/12/2008 21:38

No

foxinsocks · 27/12/2008 21:38

no, nope, definitely no

but if you did, you could have 2 more boys and call them Cain and Abel and be totally happy with your brood

PippiCalzelunghe · 27/12/2008 21:37

naff, without a doubt. sorry.

girlandboy · 27/12/2008 21:36

I don't think you could get away with Adam and Eve.

Evie........hmm, possibly.

My ds is called Adam, and my dd's middle name is Eve, but had it been her first name then we wouldn't have called ds Adam.

Pannacotta · 27/12/2008 21:35

Sorry but do you really need to ask?!
A definite NO NO...
