Boys name to go with tricky and harsh surname

Wolfblass · 27/12/2008 17:14

So the surname is Wellard

We really like William (after dp's grandad) - but i'm rather unsure, does it sound like a mouthfull?

''William Wellard''

Dad thinks not - as he says it's a strong name like William Wilberforce.

So very, very stuck and would be extremely grateful of your ideas and suggestions. Any other names we have liked / like may well be out of the question.

Our daughter is Georgia

Alexander works well both long and short versions.

hotCheeseBURNS · 01/02/2009 17:39

I would go for a name with a "soft" ending, so no Richard, Edward or Jacob.

Good luck!

lljkk · 28/12/2008 10:51

Mark, Daniel, Max, David, Michael (Mike), Ron(ald), Rob(ert), Josh(ua).

I know 2 boys locally with almost the same surname (probably same pronunciation), called Lloyd and Vincent.

Leo9 · 27/12/2008 23:19

Thomas? Tom for short.

Joseph?

Samuel?

othersideofchannel · 27/12/2008 22:19

What about

Oscar Wellard

or

Quentin Wellard

Wolfblass · 27/12/2008 21:37

Nope i am rather happy with the names she is coming up with now! But getting dp to listen is like getting blood out of a stone!

I am loving Archie but he is having none of it...

Relieved to hear it. Just keep your fingers crossed step-dd does not consider it when/if she has her own children!
