Will my christmas baby hate me if i call him this?

I was due dc4 today and still no sign but the closer it gets to christmas the more my dp is doubting our boys choice of name. It is Christian, which i absolutely adore, but do you think as he gets older people will tease him for being born at christmas and being called Christian? We dont actually know if we are having a boy, but no christmas issues with girls name!

I thought you were going to say Noel and I was going to say 'yes he will'! Christian is lovely.

cheerytinselcherry · 20/12/2008 22:20

Thought you were going to say Star or Donkey...

fridayschild · 20/12/2008 22:19

DS2 was nearly born on 5th November and one of our neighbours was convinced we would call him Guy

I would go with Christian if I were you. If you were asking about Noel, that would be different.

chloemegjess · 20/12/2008 21:53

I think it is fine, even if he is born Xmas day. I was due over Xmas last time and very nearly called DD Holly but decided not to in the end as we found a name we loved.

jingleMAMADIVAsbells · 20/12/2008 19:58

My best friend's DS is called Christian and I love it, it's a nice unusual name but not weird unusual IYKWIM.

TBH I wouldn't even have connected it with christmas in anyway.

Lizzylou · 20/12/2008 19:55

Love the name Christian, whatever his date of birth

pamelat · 20/12/2008 19:55

I would only avoid it if he arrives on Christmas day. Nice name.

nickytinseltimes · 20/12/2008 19:27

Thought you were gonna say Robin

I actually really like the name Christian even if the bloke in EE irritates me no end!

MrsWeasleyStrokesSantasSack · 20/12/2008 19:14

I know a Holly born in March and a Summer born in the Winter

slavetomykids · 20/12/2008 19:08

Lovely name

golds · 20/12/2008 19:02

Christian is lovely - I have a Christopher - they are lovely classic names - all his friends call him Chris but to me will always be Christopher

Clary · 20/12/2008 18:51

@FAQ

Don't think you are allowed to use Jesus in this country actually?

TattyCatty · 20/12/2008 18:50

I've known a (now grown up) Christian, born on 22nd December, all my life and it's only this year that I've actually made the connection, so I think you should be fine. It's a lovely name, and still suits him as an (almost) 36 year old.

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 20/12/2008 18:50

oh dear - poor OP - she posts a thread asking for advice about the name Christian and we all get carried away with other "seasonal" names

Clary · 20/12/2008 18:50

I think it's fine.

I know a Holly born in Dec which I think is also really nice.

I know an Autumn too - if she had been born in May it would be a bit odd imho (she wasn't).

Actually Christian is surely dateless and good for any time. If he really doesn't like it when he's big he could always be Chris.

twinsetiscrapatflouncing · 20/12/2008 18:48

I like the name Christian

MannyMoeAndJack · 20/12/2008 18:48

Could always choose Rudolf as a fall-back option

twinsetiscrapatflouncing · 20/12/2008 18:48

Balthazar

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 20/12/2008 18:47

I thought you were going to say Joseph or Noel (or perhaps Herod

I know a baby Christian and I think it's such a lovely name. I wouldn't necessarily make the connection btw, so I think you should go with it
