Our other choices include Alexander (hot favorite so far I think), also Mungo, Munro, Nairn, Hector and Rory.

DH has just suggested Dougray and my initial reaction was positive. Wondering what you ladies think to it (we are in Scotland, as you may have guessed!)

Honest opinions please, don't hold back.

Dougray Scott's real name is Stephen but as there was already an actor called Stephen Scott registered with Equity he used his mother'smaiden name as his first name or summat...

Alexander Hector and Rory all good as are;

Donald, Stuart, Fraser, Angus, Fergus.

ISpyAMincePie · 19/12/2008 09:52

I like it! Also think Alexander and Rory are both really good names

kif · 19/12/2008 09:30

I think it's quite nice - especially said in a think scottish accent deep voice: "Doooog-rrrae" . Makes me think of tall man wearing thick wool jumper and striding around a loch with just a faithful hound for company.

horsemadgal · 19/12/2008 09:29

Not keen on Dougray.
I do like Alexander or Rory though.
Or how about Angus?

saltiresaysSANTA · 19/12/2008 09:25

No, . That's just becasue I don't like Dougray Scott though

purplemonkeydishwasher · 19/12/2008 09:14

I like it!
or if you like 'gray' you could have Grayson.

i like alexander too and LOVE hector.

cyanarasamba · 19/12/2008 09:12

Sounds like a location in the shipping forecast - is it?

2pt4WiseMen · 19/12/2008 09:05

Sounds like a nn for a Douglas Ray

audley · 19/12/2008 09:01

Love all your options with the exception of Dougray which sounds harsh to my ears. Like the nn Gray though would presume the fn was Graham...

helpivegottogivebirth · 19/12/2008 08:47

What about Dougal? i like it.

Dragonbrandybutter · 19/12/2008 08:41

What about just Gray then. I think i prefer it. But it's a bit like Gary isn't it.

Anna8888 · 19/12/2008 08:40

No. Dougray is horrible.

delightedoldbag34 · 19/12/2008 08:38

I thought we could call him Gray for short.
I quite like that

Seems like I'm the only one..... [lone voice shrieking in the darkness]

it would be a good name for a Scottish stingray.

TipsyFairydifferentID · 19/12/2008 00:22

I like Rory and Alexander best out of your first choices, followed by Hector. What do you think of Stuart?

Dragonbrandybutter · 19/12/2008 00:20

I don't like it.
I am scottish, but personally don't like these harsh sounding names.
Alexander is perfectly good.

TipsyFairydifferentID · 19/12/2008 00:18

There is an actor called Dougray Scott. ALways thought it was a made up name personally.
