Victor or Tristan or ......

Please help me choose a name for a boy. After much stress! I have narrowed it down to a choice of four between me and DH.

I?m only certain that middle name will be Gabriel after a grandparent. Also the baby will likely have dark hair/brown eyes if that makes a difference.

Me and DH both agree on Victor Gabriel or Tristan Gabriel. Both these names would be our second/third choices but I don't know which is nicer?

Or my first choice is Etienne Gabriel, though I am not French. Is this naff or lovely!

Or DH first choice is Glynn or Glen Gabriel. I have so far disregarded these but am I missing something?

Tristan too popular and is now starting to be used as a girl's name.

I love Gabriel but it's at number 92 in the top 100 and I fear a surge in popularity is just around the corner. There seems to be a lot around.

Also I think it'll be too confusing to have two Gabriels in the family - I do definitly want a new name.

Aww no one thinks Etienne is a good idea but me!

I would go for Gabriel Tristan or Tristan Gabriel. Etienne is very poncetastic if you're not french and Glyn/Glen are pretty dreadful imho

I like Gabriel.

I find either of your compromise choices a bit of a mouthful with Gabriel as the middle name. If pushed I prefer Victor to Tristan.

I don't like either of your personal favourite choices.

Glyn/Glen - don't like at all
Etienne - don't think it works unless you are French
Prefer Victor to Tristan but prefer Gabriel to both!

Gabriel is a lovely name - much nicer than any of your first name choices. Can you not use that?

Tristan is nicer then Victor IMO.

Victor makes me think of Victor Meldrew..
