Hello. I am having a baby girl, due end of april. Our surname is Webb so would like something to go with it.

DH really likes Mia but I think it is a bit short to go with Webb?

I really like Madeline (how ever you spell it, will obviously check if we choose it), Matilda, Leyla/Leila.

Also came into conversation today was calling her April or May (depending on when she is born). I like it, but don't love it iyswim.

Not going to talk to family about names as they hated everything we liked last time and vice versa.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have a Susannah known as Suzy! So nice to see it appreciated, usually we just get looks.

redhotredhead · 11/12/2008 19:10

Like Lila and Leila - also what about Lilia?

chloejessmeg · 11/12/2008 19:04

I thought that was how it was too but MIL and BIL thought different.

Love Poppy and also Kayla, Grace, Melissa and Skye.

Annalise is what my (other) sister wants and I am happy to let her. And it is a bit similar to DDs name of Elouise (sort of!)

storkycake · 11/12/2008 17:56

ooh 'ello Glas

My Dd's 'normal' middle name is Anastasia, I suppose you could have that if you liked it

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 11/12/2008 17:54

i agree with Storky (hi btw) thats how i'd pronounce them!!

storkycake · 11/12/2008 17:52

Mia (mee-a)

Maya (m-eye-a)

They are both quite common though (well where I live anyway)

chloejessmeg · 11/12/2008 17:50

Glad people like my names!

Now getting confused about the Mia thing. MIL thought that was pronounced different to me. How would everybody spell and pronounce it?

I read your OP and thought of Annalise. I think that's very pretty and would go well with your surname.

maamajullah · 11/12/2008 17:47

Laila Webb, Layla Webb... nice
but i like Suri Webb

nowwearefour · 11/12/2008 17:34

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 11/12/2008 17:26

I alos love flower sort of names... but DH hated them so could never call my DD them... Poppy, Rose, Daisy... I alos like Milly and Molly... in fact my sister is calling her DD Milly because she always liked it when i mentioned it for my DD's but DH said no!!

WhileShosheWatchedHerFlocks · 11/12/2008 17:26

I keep plugging this one cos I just think its beautiful.

Romilly.

Pinkchampagne · 11/12/2008 17:24

Leila is quite nice as is Lila. I also like Sophia, Anya, Iris, Maisie, Maya & Eve.

chloejessmeg · 11/12/2008 17:11

I love Megan but it is ruled out because
a) my sister who has been TTC for ages really wants megan if she has a girl
b) Our niece is called Tegan which is very similar and a lovely name

We're expecting a girl in april... she's going to be a Ruby Marie..... we wavered so much as the name is so popular, but it sounds perfect with our unusual surname and also sounds just lovely with our other DC's names too!!

I also liked:
Maegan (pronounced may-gan)
April
Charlotte
Collette
Ann-marie
Olivia

but all were ruled out either becasue they didn't go with the middle name we decided to use (its a family name) and our surname... Ruby is all we settled on!!

And our DD1 is Bethany Louise

nickymorris · 11/12/2008 16:56

Summer Rose

Although maybe not for a winter baby....

StephanieByng · 11/12/2008 16:54

Alice
Sophie

NowICanSpellGeansaiNollaig · 11/12/2008 16:38

Susannah with Susie for short would be lovely and would go really well with Webb.

scorpio1 · 11/12/2008 16:25

i am still at dh for not 'allowing' it as a first name!

Anna8888 · 11/12/2008 16:24

I love Susannah (one of my cousins is called this) and Jessamy was a name I would have loved to have given my DD, but it doesn't work in French.

CuppaTeaJanice · 11/12/2008 16:21

Lois?

scorpio1 · 11/12/2008 16:19

I love it (hence why its dds middle name lol) you say Jess-ah-me. Also Jessamine, say Jess-ah-meen

Jessica is lovely htough, too. I think Leila webb sounds lovely too

Jessamy? Never hear that one before! Sorry, I don't like it.

And my other daughter is Elouise so Eloise and Elodie are out!
