Too popular. Not fantastically pretty or feminine. I wouldn't bother.

I like it but i think you have to be careful, it sounds mismatched with many surnames IMO.

Don't like it but that is purely because the school bully was called Freya. She had a habit of picking her spots as well. Unsurprisingly, it put me off the name for life, but can see it is a pretty name with nice origins.
Pheonix, my DD also called Thea but we pronounce it Thay-ah, so I guess you can pronounce it however you like! Our GP still insists on calling her Tee-ah...

freya is only at about number 25.

Am a bit if anyone thinks it is a new name. It is a VERY old name. It is where Friday comes from (freya's day). It is where mistletoe comes from (kind of ). Importantly, it is a brand of chocolate in Norway, iirc.

yes it will date a child. First, names go in and out of fashion. Sophie and Zoe scream 90s to me. Ellie and Chloe are early 2000s What, really, is the point of theses "timeless" names?

Have NO idea why its become so popular though! It has always been a good solid lentil weaver name. Where has it come from?

Doesn't really do anything for me - I like names which lend themselves to variations more. Not sure whether if you are called Freya there are any diminutives?

We have a Freya, partly chosen as my husband is swedish. I love it, think it's pretty and strong and we've had loads of compliments on it. We don't actually know any others (she's 4)although I've come across a couple in the park etc. Maybe it's just hopeful thinking but I can't see it becoming like Tracey or Kylie as it's a really old name, albeit from a different culture, that's become popular here, rather than a 'new' name that's just been made up and so specifically of this age.

It is pretty but has become too popular too quickly, which would make me worry about how it might be perceived in the future.

Adult freyas will be unaffected.

There are loads in my area too. I reckon its going to become the Tracy or Kylie of the 00's. Sorry!

There are loads of them round here now, I am not so keen. I am surprised you have so many yes's. Sorry but it isn't for me. I don't think it is awful though or anything
