...brothers Thomas and George, also have a strong boys name as a surname that begins with O, so we have to be careful with initials.

I am looking for something different to Max and Jack, but as nice as them, maybe a little bit wacky but not too much, and deffo not poncey (I am a Southerner in the North West, I have to be careful with my accent) We have been through countless name books/websites and not hit on the one yet, so it's over to you lot!

To give an idea, my favourites are Seth, Seb(astian), Albert (Albie), DH likes Charlie and Harrison, neither of us like each others (Well to be fair, I love Harrison, but I don't like 'Arrison, which is what it becomes up here!)

Christopher Stephen is my dad's names, and I couldn't use them.

Patrick is my Grandad's name and is already being used by my sister's DS. Which is a shame because I really like Paddy.

Patrick and Peter are very classic and unusual.

David is just tooooo boring for me. Everybody has an x called David, or a boss, or a husband or a father-in-law or a brother-in-law.

I'm not ready for DAvid to come back yet!

SpaceTrain · 02/12/2008 17:24

Alistair?
Solomon?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:23

Already have a David in the family. And it is still a bit too 'normal' for my liking.

We agreed pretty easily with the first two boys, had trouble with DS2's middle name for a while, but I guess we are running out of ideas now!

'my' list?! I'm not prg!

TheNewsMongersGeansaiNollag · 02/12/2008 17:19

Could Guy be short for something? Gregory or Gideon?

I know what about Gaius. I can't do the little two dots over the i. I love names that end in s. Fergus, Magnus, Marcus, Julius and I've just added Gaius to my list.

sweetkitty · 02/12/2008 17:18

David

Thomas George David

Classic names and he will probably be the only David in his class

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:18

Julian/Julius sound a bit feminine to me, and deffo poncey around here.

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 17:18

I am so glad that my DH has always agreed pretty much straight away.

Tell him you are calling him 'Julius' and that is that. See what he thinks of that!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:17

Not so keen on Nathaniel, name association thing.

Guy is good, will run that passed DH. Not sure I like it for a baby though .

Julian is nice. Also like Julius. But that would be considered 'too poncey' in my neck of the woods. Really like it myself.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:15

I love Monty, DH's response was "what like Monty Python?"

Love Sebastian as well, DH says nope.

I have told him if I get the point where I have given birth and we've still not chosen a name I am picking it, he actually had the balls to gaffaw at me....

Like Jack and Max but not Jack and Max; Guy, Gus, Greg, Saul.

Classic that would go with Thomas and George; Peter, Richie(Richard) Edward, Nicholas, Daniel, Dominic, Marcus

Sebastian?

Chocolatedays · 02/12/2008 17:10

Morgan
Montgomery (Monty)
Murray

seem to be stuck on M

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:10

Will have a think on Nathan, anymore for anymore?

We need a middle name as well, though obviously a first name would be good too!

OP posts:
kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 17:05

Oh I like Nathan. It is similar but not too similar.

hambo · 02/12/2008 17:04

Hamish

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/12/2008 17:01

See now I really like Nathan and DH hasn't completely vetoed it, but is it too similar to my name?
