...brothers Thomas and George, also have a strong boys name as a surname that begins with O, so we have to be careful with initials.

I am looking for something different to Max and Jack, but as nice as them, maybe a little bit wacky but not too much, and deffo not poncey (I am a Southerner in the North West, I have to be careful with my accent) We have been through countless name books/websites and not hit on the one yet, so it's over to you lot!

To give an idea, my favourites are Seth, Seb(astian), Albert (Albie), DH likes Charlie and Harrison, neither of us like each others (Well to be fair, I love Harrison, but I don't like 'Arrison, which is what it becomes up here!)

i concur choosyfloozy- romantic yet manly

I got Cal from the Bernard MacLaverty book but not sure if it was an abbreviation... it's unusual without being daft.

ihatemyjob · 07/12/2008 09:30

Jared? its biblical. Or does it sound too much like George?

frazzledoldbag34 · 07/12/2008 09:10

oh god no, personally anyway I just couldn't let my DH be in charge of something so important!
I'd end up with a son called Roy or Raymond (yes, really).
And I couldn't live with that.

I like Cal though. Could be short for Callum or just Cal?

goodasgoldfrankincenceandmyrhh · 07/12/2008 01:55

I wanted to call our son Arthur or Wilbur.

Why don't you just leave it up to dh. Say he can take the baby to register it's name. MY dh chose a name for our son that I wouldn't have, but it's not exactly the end of the world, and I loved my little boy before he had a name, and now he's my lovely little (named after a bunch of random sportsmen)

choosyfloosy · 07/12/2008 01:10

Cal is amazing blinks. Cal Oliver sounds like the sort of boy who's too nice to mess you around, but you break your heart over him just the same because his eyes are fixed on a far horizon.

Franklin
Aaron
Fergus (sure it's been suggested loads, sorry)
Malachi
Micah

Chocolatedays · 04/12/2008 17:21

Pressume you've considered Jay (after Jay-Jay)

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 04/12/2008 17:14

DS1 has DH's name as a middle name, and DH doesn't have a middle name to pinch.

MKG if it was up to me, I would deffo use Sebastian.

Cor, my poor usually perfect DH is getting a hard time off me isn't he? But how can anyone be so bloody unhelpful?!

OP posts:
MKG · 04/12/2008 17:11

NJ--please use Sebastian ds2 was going to be Sebastian for the longest time until I woke one morning and changed it.

My other favorite boy name is Gabriel.

AmyO · 04/12/2008 17:10

)

AmyO · 04/12/2008 17:10

what about his name?/his middle name?
would they be useable? at least he'd like it! (unless he doesn't like his own name, then you're a bit stuck...

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 04/12/2008 17:05

Only one I've not asked him about is Micah, but I am fairly sure he wouldn't go for it.

Will add it to list to run it by him though!

pramspotter · 04/12/2008 17:03

Asher

Micah

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 04/12/2008 17:00

Not so keen on Frank or Robert TBH.

Arghhhhhhhhhh how do I convince him of any of the perfectly lovely names on my list? (And scoot over the fact that I've ignored his, frankly, measly list?! )
