Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mummyloveslucy · 30/11/2008 21:44

No, I'm not expecting. My first try of Clomid failed, so I don't know if I ever will have another. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though.

Amelie is a very common name now. Are you expecting, mummyloveslucy?

(Oh, and I hate Amelia with a passion - couldn't tell you why!!)

funnypeculiar · 30/11/2008 20:22

Like it - so much that dd was Amelie for about 2 hours ... until dh convinced me (quite rightly) that she wasn't ever going to be quite girly enough for an Amelie.

Agree that it is a bit of the moment -round here at least - I know two. But I still like it

I wonder about Amelie & Lucy as a cross-the-park-shout though (assuming you have a lucy )? Sound a little bit too samey??

pardon · 30/11/2008 20:18

but i do think it's a nice name and i know an amelia too and she is lovely

pardon · 30/11/2008 20:17

schneebly · 30/11/2008 20:06

lovely name - like Amelia too

and I liked that 'naff' film!

Hulababy · 30/11/2008 20:05

Very pretty.

weepootle · 30/11/2008 20:03

Amelie is pretentious, Amelia is not.

mummyloveslucy · 30/11/2008 20:02

That's true. I think it sounds pretty.

Anna8888 · 30/11/2008 20:00

I don't think there is anything between Amelia and Amélie on the pretension stakes

nickytwotimes · 30/11/2008 20:00

Ach, MLL what's it got to do with him, eh?
Just leave it up to us.

mummyloveslucy · 30/11/2008 19:59

That buy was ment to be "but my"

pointydog · 30/11/2008 19:58

Amelie's french. I'd prefer Amelia

mummyloveslucy · 30/11/2008 19:57

I also love Amelia, buy husband thinks it sounds pretentious.
I just thought Amelie was sweeter.

weepootle · 30/11/2008 19:56

Another Amelia vote here- I love it and I know 2 who are nicknamed milly if that's what you're really after.

nickytwotimes · 30/11/2008 19:53

YES, Amelia would be perfect!

CatchaStar · 30/11/2008 19:52

Like it

nickytwotimes · 30/11/2008 19:51

Yes, wee, I think that's what makes me think naffola. For me, names don't really work outside their cultural context. If the parent or grandparent was French, then yes, I think it would work, but otherwise not so much.

Anna8888 · 30/11/2008 19:51

It has become so popular since that film... and the film was a bit naff.

I quite liked it before the film though . Amelia is much better and prettier IMO.

nickytwotimes · 30/11/2008 19:49

Hmm.

It is a nice name, but it is a bit naffola, imho.

May I just say though that your dd1's name is my top choice for my dc no. 2 should that be a girl.
