I REALLY need help. DH and I just cannot think/decide/agree on a name for little boy due in february, our little DD is called Millie and it really suits her. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance xxx

'Chester' .... I love it. Saw a little boy in the park when I was pregnant. Blond hair, running wild and his mum shouts "Chester" - mind you I never named my child it 'cause I chickened out. Now I wish I had 'cause it would really have suited him. Be brave!!

meandjoe · 23/11/2008 09:50

Joseph (i am biased as it's obviously my ds' name!), Daniel, Benjamin.

Toby,
I 'second' Finlay.
Xander.

At least he's not suggesting Eric (after his father), Elvis (obvious) or Hone (maori for John!!!

I made executive decisions both times. Told him they were not negotiable and must have chosen well as both are on suggested lists here

nooka · 23/11/2008 03:02

Why don't you ask dh to write a list of names he does like and then choose from that (assuming you like any of his choices)? That way he isn't poo-pooing your favourite names, so you are less upset about it?

How about keeping a list of a few names and deciding afterwards. I know I felt completely the same with ds2 - just couldn't find that name. When he was born I just knew which to chose (although if I'd found Seth earlier it would have been a different story!)

Millie and Patrick sounds good!

Lockets - yes that's what I meant - have real problems keeping track of all the birthdays!

dinkymum · 22/11/2008 20:46

Ohh I dont dislike Lewis at all, infact at ine point I would have seriously considered it its just 'something' not clicking with the name and bump some how!
Have begged DH for George but he has forbid it lol Love Charlie but its DH's best friends name Zach/Jack sounding names seriously clash with surname. Like Harry, have a great nephew Harrison thorugh but dont really see him so... but DH said no to that too. in fact hes pretty much said absoloutely no way to all my suggestions which may be my problem with Lewis and Luke just on the principle he likes them lol Luke has always been a fave of mine. Think i'm thoroughly hormonely. Been in tears umpteen times today and I mean floods of tears and I keep doing stupid things so maybe im in no fit state to be naming a human being lol

We've got a patch (think I was on April 03 with you lockets?!) there aren't many about and lots of people have said they love the name.

Phoenix · 22/11/2008 20:29

Ohh its so hard! thanks so much for the suggestions so far! Its not so much that it needs ro go with Millie its just that I thought it was a good inclination into taste in names? if that makes sense!?
It is really helpful to see what other ppl suggest too though.

i've got a Millie (she's Millicent, though), and an Elliot.
I wasn't too fussed about whether they 'go' together, but i think they do.

so what have you chosen?

dinkymum · 21/11/2008 21:40

Thanks for all the sugestions! They're really useful! We have a difficult surname and know lots of people who seem to take up names we like! Plus me and DH are equally fussy, but unfortuntely it seems in opposite ways lol
