Names that are destined to become very popular

I am racking my brains for a name for DD3. So far I have had Claudia, Camille, Esme, Francesca and Louisa.

We cannot make our minds up totally and out of the above names I think Claudia, Esme and Louisa are going to become popular over the next few years and want to avoid anything that will become the next "Grace" - DD1 is Grace and I love it but sick to the back teeth of hearing it every 5 minutes.

Anyone have any names which are destined to become the next Top 5 for the 2010's thus I should avoid!

Vronsky - where do you live that you know of lots of Kitty's - I have one and don't know of a single other one!? (am in Scotland).
Am with you on Caroline - lovely and quite unusual.

Caroline/Karolyns etc - we had tonnes at our school

For the Olivia/Ella/Grace classes I think the soft feminine names will stay in the ascendant for a few years and will be followed by a backlash of either extreme old-lady names (Nancy, Edith, Agnes, Dorothy), 70s mainstream names (Christine, Alison, Jane, Susan) or US-inspired surnames-as-firstnames (Cameron, Stockard, Torrance)

Harriet is getting very popular as are Rose, May, Phoebe and Isabel.

I don't think Claudia will ever be so popular as it's a bit more unusual; Francesca is relatively popular already. All beautiful names on your list. I just love Camille. Wanted to call my DD that but DH wasn't in favour unfortunately.

Another name that's a classic but never over-used is Sophie/Sophia. Beatrice too.

I am really please I saw this thread. I am loving the name Camille (nickname Milly). Its the first inspiration DH and I have had for a while and we were getting desperate. We now have a shortlist of four .

(More's the pity, as they're mostly nice names!)

If my DD's name ever becomes popular, I shall eat my woolly bobble-hat (though that's what my Gran said when she called one of her daughters Olivia 68 years ago!!)

I think Claudia, Camille and Louisa will remain unusual.
(there is a mer with a Louisa, but I don't know of any others)

I think names go on something like an 80 year cycle. So the popular names now, are the ones that 10 years ago we only heard for old ladies, IYSWIM. So, to be original now, go for names that were popular say 30 years ago.
Someone mentioned Claire already - then there's always Sharon or Tracy...

I can't see Claudia becoming the new Jessica somehow, I'd have thought that was a safe bet - Violet is also still way down on the popularity list.

can't move without bumping into an Olivia or Ella. I have always tried to choose an unusual name and concluded not possible to do.
