Girls name poll - spare a sec please?!

Lotster · 11/11/2008 13:00

After 'im indoors wrinkling his nose up at so many girls names I've suggested, we finally have a few we both like on the shortlist! Would you mind taking a sec please to reply with the one you like best?
(Would be good if we could set up our own polls on here - if someone knows how lemme know!)
Thanks lots!

Evie

Mabel

Lila

Isabel

I like Mabel or Lila

Evie and Isabel both very, very popular atm.

MrsMattie · 12/11/2008 10:09

Please not Mabel. It's just silly.

iarel · 12/11/2008 00:06

try and shorten it or make it rhyme with something, whichever one comes off best afetr that is the winner

AtheneNoctua · 11/11/2008 23:52

Mabel reminds me of:

Mabel, Mabel
Strong and able
Get your elbows
Off the table.

I told you once.
I told you twice.
I'll never, never
Tell you thrice.

BlackEyedDog · 11/11/2008 23:30

Mabel

AtheneNoctua · 11/11/2008 23:28

Isabel

ravenAK · 11/11/2008 23:24

Absolutely Mabel.

Isabel gorgeous but over-used. Evie & Lila both sound like diminutives even if Lila isn't, iyswim...

stepfordwife · 11/11/2008 23:15

love mabel
like others, too, except for lila

controlfreakyBANG · 11/11/2008 23:13

mabel! lovely....

solo · 11/11/2008 23:11

Not Mabel! Very elderly spinster.

GrimmaTheNome · 11/11/2008 23:07

Isabel

lunamoon2 · 11/11/2008 23:06

I think Mabel will really grow on people, just not sure if it suits a twentysomething.

I like them all tbh.

Evie

LaDiDaDi · 11/11/2008 20:33

Mabel or Isabel. (Isobel is dd's middle names and I love it but it is very popular.)

mumof2andabit · 11/11/2008 20:31

Lila. Very pretty and rare where we are anyway. Maybelle is also lovely.

cheerycherry · 11/11/2008 19:33

Mabel (too many Evies round here)

2point4kids · 11/11/2008 19:31

Mabel with Isabel as a close second

fishperson · 11/11/2008 19:30

Isabel, but depends a bit on your surname.

Maybelle?

colacubes · 11/11/2008 19:26

Lila

PeppermintPatty · 11/11/2008 19:10

I vote for Mabel. I know a lovely little 2 year old called Mabel, tis a lovely name.

TheNewsMonger · 11/11/2008 14:53

Evie - pretty and sweet, but put Eve on the bc

Mabel - lovely, can't understand why not more popular.

Lila - prefer Leila. Lila reminds me of Lilo and is a bit insubstantial.

Isabel - nice but it's been overused.

Eve Mabel or Eve Leila or Mabel Eve or Leila Mabel.

seeker · 11/11/2008 14:35

Mabel.

Love strumpet as a category!

Not seen the film Frank, but thanks, it's very pretty. Have seen another spelling Mabelle too.
