Storm!

I've recently come across two children called Storm.

Now i was having a laugh about this to my mum; 'Can you believe there are two girls called Storm around, laugh, laugh, what were they thinking, etc, etc' and her reply was 'GIRLS???'

Now to me, Storm sounds a girly name (though i know prehaps not strictly a name!!) but she thinks it's more for a boy.

What do you all think? Girl or boy?

It isn;t a real name is it? So surely it is unisex. Not for me.

RachieB · 11/11/2008 21:29

i know of a female Storm

Bonnycat · 11/11/2008 16:31

Girl, i love it but wouldnt be brave enough to use it.
I used to know one spelt with an e on the end...

frazzledoldbag34 · 11/11/2008 12:49

I think girl, but then I also think she'd have to end up being a supermodel or actress (or porn star perhaps?) to carry off a name like that. She couldn't very well end up a checkout girl in Asda could she???

2point4kids · 11/11/2008 08:50

Girl

dweezle · 11/11/2008 08:47

Storm - what if she has thin mousy hair, a slight moustache, and works in a library.

HeadFairy · 10/11/2008 18:43

Well you couldn't be anything other than dreamy if you were called Leaf could you?

seeker · 10/11/2008 18:35

Lots of Leifs in Scandanavia!

Shoshe · 10/11/2008 18:21

If DD had been a boy he would have been Storm.

fuzzywuzzy · 10/11/2008 18:19

blimey no, Leaf worked in a bar I did accounts for, he was kind of dreamy with long blonde hair and very sweet....albeit an utterly crap bar person.

HeadFairy · 10/11/2008 18:15

Isn't that Joachim Phoenix's real name fuzzywuzzy? Are you a friend to slebs?

fuzzywuzzy · 10/11/2008 18:09

Girl I've met several of them too. Also know a Leaf who's a guy.

Liffey · 10/11/2008 18:07

A girl. Definitely.

I thought Amaya was a form of 'loved'.

Spidermama · 10/11/2008 17:57

I know girls called Storm. I have a friend who called her dd Amaya because it means storm and she was born in a storm. I think it's a lovely name but I'd go with Amaya rather than Storm.

seeker · 10/11/2008 17:55

My brother's stepson was called Storm. He hated it. The summer before he went to secondary school, he asked if he could change it, so we had a family party at which he changed his name to Thomas. He has been much happier ever since!

CuppaTeaJanice · 10/11/2008 17:51

It's the name of a model agency.

And a watch brand.

misdee · 10/11/2008 17:49

catweazle · 10/11/2008 17:47

It's my DD's middle name... but feel free to take the piss..

FWIW DH and the PIL wanted it to be her first name.

HeadFairy · 10/11/2008 17:44

@ Axel and Dragon, future hellraisers for sure!

annasmami · 10/11/2008 17:42

Whats wrong with Axel?

rolledhedgehog · 10/11/2008 17:26

Dog or horse - male or female.

louisejohnson87 · 10/11/2008 17:01

If you think this is a "bad" name, I know a set of brothers called

Axel and Dragon!!!!!

Now come on, they are BAD names!!!

dinkymum · 10/11/2008 16:56

I would say girl, my dad wanted to call me Storm when I was born, as I was born during a freak snow storm, and with my surname I would've sounded like a natural disaster, pleased to say my mum vitoed it! He tried Gail too.. lol not sure what happened to snowy! lol

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 10/11/2008 16:53

agree with puppymonkey, it's not good

branflake81 · 10/11/2008 16:35
