Brilliant name.
Very cool.

badkitty · 24/10/2008 09:27

My DH is insisting we use it as middle name for our soon to be ds - on the basis that it was the name of his much loved childhood dog... I have tried explaining that we can't name ds after a labrador, however nice he was, but he is insisting. I am please Billie has used it - now it is a trendy celeb name rather than just a pet's name...

chandellina · 22/10/2008 18:43

i like it a lot and it was on my list. DH rejected it though ... instead we get to share a DS name with Kerry Katona.

Cheesesarnie · 22/10/2008 17:01

Win/Wyn sound lovely I reckon.

snowleopard · 22/10/2008 10:38

I like it. Win/Wyn is quite cool as a short version, there is one in Arcade Fire IIRC and it suits him.

MarkStretch · 22/10/2008 10:32

Yes, he is the resident celebrity. I went to Thomas Mills. Loved Fram.

BabyBaby123 · 22/10/2008 09:36

not personally my cup of tea but could be worse!!

lottiejenkins · 22/10/2008 08:16

MarkStretch. I live the other side of Framlingham, friends of my late fathers live in Winston as does John Gummer i believe?

Lottie- that's the one! How weird, it's a tiny place.

violetsareblue · 21/10/2008 21:29

No joke, our surname is Churchill - so no way could WE ever use that name. We did think though that it would be a cool name if we ever had a dog!

frazzledoldbag34 · 21/10/2008 21:28

I think Ray Winston is fab.......especially in 'Sexy Beast'. Fab film. Quite fancy watching it now.........

lottiejenkins · 21/10/2008 21:15

geraldinetheluckygoat · 21/10/2008 21:04

MarkStretch · 21/10/2008 21:03

I know too many dogs called Winston.

And I lived in Winston.

The village, not the dog.

ahhhh... chris evans made a dedication at the start of his show to the foxes and baby winston...

...makes sense now

UnquietDad · 21/10/2008 21:00

It does sound like the kind of name a very cool black actor would have. Does films where he strides in slow-motion away from a big explosion without his leather jacket or shades getting out of place.

fullmOOOOOWHOOOOOnfiend · 21/10/2008 20:59

i have a friend called Winston, Everyone calls him Win. He is very cool and so is his name.

milliemayhem · 21/10/2008 20:55

Can't see it suiting a 6ft tall skinny whizz kid, but each to their own. Some names suit babies/kids great, but once they hit adulthood they just ain't right!!

Liffey · 21/10/2008 20:54

Winston Fox. It's cool. Sounds like something Gwen Stefani would have come up with.

Billie was not running that one past mumsnet on the babynames board!

Do slebs ever do that!!

Doesn't Winston Fox sound a bit like a character from a cartoon?

When I was at university we were told halfway through the year that a new student would be joining us and his name was Winston. We all, perhaps naively, assumed he was a black guy (it was 1985), but when he showed up he had ginger hair and a Welsh accent!
