Which do you prefer? We have to register tomorrow afternoon and we're down to the final two (which is a vast improvement of the ten combinations we had last week!) Any input would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Anna Olivia rolls off the tongue best

artichokes · 02/10/2008 13:27

Ellbell · 02/10/2008 13:23

Am waiting for OP to come back to this thead and say: 'Oh, we decided to call her Fred in the end'.

OrmIrian · 02/10/2008 11:13

Anna Olivia.

frazzledoldbag34 · 02/10/2008 11:09

Hello, what did you decide on then?

stripeytiger · 01/10/2008 20:09

Anna Oliva is the better combination I think, but still doesn't really flow. Could you maybe put another name inbetween to break up the vowels a bit

How about Anna Louise Oliva, or Anna Mae Olivia or is that confusing the issue even further...sorry!

Janni · 01/10/2008 19:40

Anna Olivia

Simplysally · 01/10/2008 19:40

You have to register your daughter by six weeks but you don't have to name her for up to a year. Unless the guidelines have changed .

TwoPumpkins · 01/10/2008 19:32

Anna Olivia lovely

nicewarmslippers · 01/10/2008 16:37

I really like anna olivia.

I love to welsh name iona (pronounced starting the same as yogurt ie yona) but I am guessing you are thinking iona as in the scottish island?

DeJaVous · 01/10/2008 14:15

awww, rebecca. I bet this really isn't helping.

HonoriaGlossop · 01/10/2008 13:45

Yes, too many vowels by far

it's like a vowel-erama

Anna is by far the prettier first name. Personally I think it needs a second name that does NOT end in A.

Anna Louise? Something like that?

OLIVIASMAMA · 01/10/2008 13:32

Agree with DDF - sorry, don't mean to be rude, they really are lovely but individually.

Ellbell · 01/10/2008 13:19

I agree 100% with what Anna has just said. But I also agree that the first name is the one you'll use 99% of the time, so the main thing is to go with the first name that you love.

Anna Livia does sound lovely. Do you have Irish connections?

Anna8888 · 01/10/2008 13:03

Both have a problem in that the first name ends in a vowel and the second name starts with one, and so they don't sound harmonious together.

But agree with other posters that Olivia Iona is worse than Anna Olivia.

Oliviona

Annolivia

How about Anna Livia?

MamaG · 01/10/2008 13:02

Agree with the Anna Olivia likers. But i prefer Alice Olivia

DungunGirl · 01/10/2008 13:00

Anna Olivia definitely!

noonki · 01/10/2008 12:33

Anna Oliva is lovely

Botbot · 01/10/2008 12:31

Anna Olivia. Sounds a bit like all one name though: Annaolivia.

MrsMattie · 01/10/2008 12:30

Anna Olivia - beautiful.

belgo · 01/10/2008 12:30

I agree muddleduck - it's not that important to have a second name that 'flows' with the first name as they are not said together that often. The first name is the most important.

muddleduck · 01/10/2008 12:29

The most important thing is the first name. This is what you will be using all day everyday for her whole life. Is she an "Anna" or an "Olivia"? Personally I prefer Anna.

I think people get too hung up on the "how does it all sound" thing (both of yours are fine btw).

belgo · 01/10/2008 12:29
