with the Baby Names threads?
Just call your baby what you like when it is born ... and then people can get used to calling your baby Tooty Frooty Smith or whatever as it is a done deal ....

But please stop listing names like:

Dante
Hector
Edith (Does anyone remember "'Allo 'Allo")
Blaise
Milton
BAYARD??? WTF?

I can't stand it anymore ....

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

don't worry, it's actually very chavvy to call someone a chav.

I HATE that word.

For some reason it always makes me think of inner thigh and intimate area chafing. I have no idea why.

Fimbo · 26/08/2008 09:51

I put a snotty reply tbh.

This is the answer:-

I stand corrected Fimbo, maybe not Katherine and Kate. But Kayleigh, Kyle, Kai, Kendall, Kieran, Kacey, Kaitlin, Keaton, Kennan, yes.
When I was in hospital after having ds1 ther was a baby called "K". Ffs!

You can bet some mn'rs have dc with names on that list.

thumbwitch · 26/08/2008 09:51

shame, I was going to suggest Kami for the kitten (short for Kamikaze, to go with Ninja) - but you don't want a chav name for your kitten, do you?

3andnomore · 26/08/2008 09:48

lol...oh dear...really no hope for me....because my name is Kerstin...so, I am a chav....hohum.....

FAQ · 26/08/2008 09:45

that contain a K or start with K ??

Fimbo · 26/08/2008 09:42

I suggested Kyle and Kendall (my American friend's name and her sister) on a thread where someone has dc with American sounding names and is a looking for a name for a girl.

Another poster came on and told me that all names that contain a K were Chav.

PMSL at that - can you imagine all the Kates/Katherines etc out there being told they are Chav.

FAQ · 26/08/2008 09:39

Dante was a poet from the late 1200's - early 1300's.......

Fimbo · 26/08/2008 09:37

I post on them - some names are plain ridiculous so I usually offer up some in a similar vein.

Dante is a character in that school thing with Neil Morrisey (can't remember name of it now)

FAQ · 26/08/2008 09:34

well I remember seeing babyname threads on here when I first joined - maybe not quite so long as some posting on this thread - but still nearly 4yrs ago.......they were just posted under topic headings.........

3andnomore · 26/08/2008 09:26

Kiskidee or the posters using the Name Threads used to post those requests at Babycentre (excuse my language )

DontHunAtMeIWillBite · 26/08/2008 08:58

hurumph, 3!

I think so, kis. But hormones do some bloody odd things to you.

kiskidee · 26/08/2008 08:52

lol at ghosty.

I remember the days when MNers got along just fine without having a jury help them name their babies.

surely most some of these threads are just pee-takes.

ghosty · 26/08/2008 08:49

Edith is a good name for a cat

FLOUNCE [sticking Tongue out emoticon]

Willow is cute, btw

3andnomore · 26/08/2008 08:45

Hecot- Hector of course

ghosty · 26/08/2008 08:45

I love your pet names 3andnomore - Ninja is brilliant!!

Geoff is actually a great name for a cat. But not for a Baby.

OP posts:
Hecate · 26/08/2008 08:44

Ninja and Zee-va?

See, I don't think 2 names ending in an 'a' sound work together. What about Willow?

3andnomore · 26/08/2008 08:44

lol, I agree with you Ghosty (Hecot is the name of a Great Dane )

but hatrick it's a girl...can't call her Geoff....(our Tomcat, that ran off was called Shinobi ...it means Ninja, lol

3andnomore · 26/08/2008 08:42

like Zee-va . it's the name of a strong character on NCIS and Kitten needs a cool name, as our dog is called Ninja....

9off to hide again...Ghosty is scowling to me, I am sure I can feel her evil eye on me )

3andnomore .... silly names for pets is fine, ok and in fact the right thing ... Ziva is a great name for a cat.
Samantha, however, is NOT!
Pets shouldn't be called by human names IMO ... unless they are old fashioned names like Hector

OP posts:
Hecate · 26/08/2008 08:39

How is that pronounced?

zee-vah
or ziv-ah/ar

3andnomore · 26/08/2008 08:34

So, what do you lot think about the name Ziva for a little girlkitten?

(runs away and hides from ghosty ;))

Hecate · 26/08/2008 08:32

Yes 3, y'freak, you!!

ghosty · 26/08/2008 08:31

I have found myself shouting at the computer when I see a thread entitled, "What do you think of DingDong for a boy?"

I rarely open them ... It is just the thread titles make me want to poke my eyes out with a blunt stick.
