But it also makes me think of swarthy, long haired little men. Not awfully keen. Also it reminds me of 'Ruby' and I'm just so sick of hearing about little Ruby's being born round here at the mo.

We used to have a hosepipe called Reuben.

(OK that's weird. I know. But we did buy it from a bloke called Reuben!)

dinkymum · 25/08/2008 21:17

i really like it! knew a reuben in art college and he was a very cool chap!

hw2004 · 25/08/2008 18:13

Love it but DH won't have it for some reason!!!

falcon · 25/08/2008 13:45

I love it.

PrettyCandles · 24/08/2008 16:37

I liked Reuben, but dh wouldn't have it.

4madboys · 24/08/2008 16:33

yep love it, my ds2 is Oscar Reuben

ScummyMummy · 24/08/2008 16:30

love it too.

lotuseener · 24/08/2008 16:22

Love it!!! DH says it's the name of a sandwich though. I hope the next one is a boy so I can convince dh to let us name him Reuben!!!!

Ds1 is Gabriel Isaac, I love biblical names.

I love it, think it's a great name

PookiePodgeandTubs · 24/08/2008 11:23

I love it. Great name. My daughter aged six was almost a Reuben, I mean, obviously except for the fact ahtt she was a girl. Six/7 yrs ago when it was on my list people reacted as though I'd opened the bible and stuck in a pin. But now it's mainstream but not ubiquitous. Good choice imo.

Grumpalina · 24/08/2008 10:39

Love it. Love it. Love it.

Wanted it for DS2 but DP refused (ended up with Robin instead which doesn't seem to be a popular name at all???!!! Wanted to buy him a bauble for the Christmas tree on his 1st Christmas and they didn't have his name which seemed very bizarre??!!!)

EmmyLou · 24/08/2008 10:39

My BF's DS is Reuben and he's a large eyed, long lashed husky voiced cutie at nearly 5yo, so big YES from me.

BigBadMousey · 24/08/2008 10:38

Like it - I don't know any young reubens at all.

tiggerlovestobounce · 24/08/2008 10:35

I love it.

ShowOfHands · 24/08/2008 10:12

I know 5 baby Reubens!

biglips · 24/08/2008 10:07

its one of my faves names but there is already a Reuben in my Dps family who is only 16 months old

JuneBugJen · 24/08/2008 10:05

Know 2 Reubens... its a great name.

3andnomore · 24/08/2008 09:59

Twenty, why ould anyone spell it "Rueben"?

twentypence · 24/08/2008 03:28

And be prepared for women who have called their son Rueben to tell you that you spelt it wrong.

nickeldime · 24/08/2008 02:40

I like it. It's popular, but not as common as Ruben, from the chart here:
www.babynamespedia.com/meaning/Reuben

ollyop · 23/08/2008 23:06

Love it. My Reuben is almost 16. It was more unusual when he was little, but recently I have heard of several more little Reubens being born.

Beauregard · 23/08/2008 22:59

Nice enough but quite popular

eekamoose · 23/08/2008 22:59

I just love this name. Would have given it to my gorgeous DS except our older DD (his sister) is Ruby.

Its a fine boys name. Really.
