I would use Cora as a shortening. Just worried it might be too poncey.

Of course! I knew it sounded brisdesheady

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 19/08/2008 13:15

It's too... something. Reminds me of Ribena.

There are two Cordelias at Brownies and it's not a big pack. They are know as "cordy" for short which make me think of curtains and tie-backs.

But I'm not normal it has to be said.

blueshoes · 19/08/2008 13:04

Sounds posh. It was the little sister's name in Brideshead Revisited.

LadyThompson · 19/08/2008 12:50

Lovely name but not when shortened to Delia, and other people might.

Yes, it's quite posh but so what.

wb · 19/08/2008 12:47

I think - very posh. Also very 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' but that's a generational thing.

But it is a nice name

Lakelover · 19/08/2008 12:27

I think it's lovely too - also reminds me of the wonderful Anne of Green Gables!

Quattrocento · 18/08/2008 22:22

It's lovely

falcon · 18/08/2008 22:21

I think it's beautiful and I prefer the full version to Cora.

Dozymare · 18/08/2008 21:02

gorgeous - and shortened to Lia is lovely as well!

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/08/2008 20:55

It is a bit posh, but it's also gorgeous.

traceybath · 18/08/2008 20:53

mamalovesmojitos · 18/08/2008 20:50

it's gorgeous - so what if it sounds posh.

Podrick · 18/08/2008 20:39

may be shortened to Delia which is a bit dodge

Podrick · 18/08/2008 20:38

posh and nice

harpomarx · 18/08/2008 20:38

just to go against the grain - I think it is uber posh!

but I think that would also depend on what you and your family are like. A posh person saying Cordelia is off the scale posh but a less posh person might make it sound more 'normal' iyswim.

Cora is nice though.
