suedonim · 21/08/2008 00:52

I liked Jemima until then-3yo dd2 started referring to 'Vagina' Puddleduck.

expatinscotland · 21/08/2008 00:15

one of DD1's pals has an adorable hamster called Jemima.

Jemima, love it. it was the back-up name for dd, and I'm still wondering whether i should have used it instead. It's beautiful.

Gorgeous - it made my list

Mammina · 19/08/2008 21:56

I'm afraid it does make me think of the playschool doll, but I do love Mimi

mifi · 19/08/2008 21:46

I think its a classy name but it probably does make people of my age think of playschool but so what there are worst names out there!! My daughter is called Melissa which seems fairly rare if thats what you are after.

Stars22 · 19/08/2008 13:29

puddle duck

LadyThompson · 19/08/2008 13:26

Is it? I didn't know. All the little Jemimas I've encountered have been white so that's a new one on me

there were 3 Jemimas at my DD playgroup and we thought we were being original... My husband had a thing about Jemima Khan hence the choice (I chose first DDs name). She gets called Jimmy quite a lot, never Jem.

LadyThompson · 19/08/2008 13:01

I love it and prefer it in full to Mimi or Mima.

I think I prefer it as a middle name though.

wellbalanced · 19/08/2008 10:39

I look after a little girl called Jemima and i like it.
She suits it.
We call her Mimi too.

Iklboo · 18/08/2008 13:56

Poor children indeed - mother would call them in faux posh voice
"Bertie, Gertie, Jemima - do come here this instant"

hana · 18/08/2008 13:54

love it, gorgeous name

PootyApplewater · 18/08/2008 13:53

Jemima the Mimer.

Would be fine if you have a DD who is adept at fighting her way out of invisible paper bags, or who is good at smoothing the walls of an invisible box.

Bit of a risk though.

Tortington · 18/08/2008 13:51
