Blaise is the sort of pseudonyms names used by strippers in America.

Janni · 10/08/2008 18:48

Sorry, claudib, but you did ask!

Fancy trying out any other names on the MN coven?

Am I the only one here who remembers en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modesty_Blaise? That was a woman, btw.

oopsacoconut · 10/08/2008 18:27

I had a horse named Blaise - he was a touch of a wuss!

ThatBigGermanPrison · 10/08/2008 10:04

If you want your son to sound like you allowed him to be named by a 6 year old Valley Girl, go for it. Don't be surprised if he later takes up ballet, or on the flip side, knife crime, as a reaction to the public response to a name like Blaise.

shreddies · 10/08/2008 10:02

Too girly imo

dizzydixies · 10/08/2008 09:50

my best friend was desperate for this when pg with her ds, she went with Ben in the end and am glad she did

sorry but it just does nothing for me either

EachPeachPearMum · 09/08/2008 22:40

I think its a nice name, and we could use it (DH french heritage) BUT you do know that Blaise Pascal was as mad as a box of frogs, don't you?
I think it just carries negative connotations.

Janni · 09/08/2008 22:36

A bit too effeminate - he will have to be a very self-confident lad to carry it off, unless you live in a rarified environment where lots of other boys have poetic names.

SilkCutMama · 09/08/2008 22:20

cyteen · 09/08/2008 12:42

Bleurgh. Hate it for either sex!

Jux · 09/08/2008 12:00

I have a cousin with this name, he's very pompous but I'm sure your ds won't be. I like it.

ipanemagirl · 09/08/2008 11:34

It does sound a little feminine to me. Sorry!
