Both as names for a boy - which do you prefer and why?

Oh I love Rowan. DS2 was so nearly called it, but it was too like DS1s name in the end

pgwithnumber3 · 05/08/2008 15:21

I love love love love love Rowan and would truly love it if DC3 turns out to be a boy but our surname is Owens and Rowan Owens just doesn't damn well go!

Keiron is also a nice name and I have a dear second cousin who is a Kieran and he is lovely.

Scarletibis · 05/08/2008 14:23

Keiran

I like Rowan, but for a girl.

clairebear88 · 05/08/2008 14:12

Hi

I prefer Keiran not really sure why though

spiderlight · 05/08/2008 13:35

Rowan. That's what my little boy would have ben but it didn't go with our surname

Rowan.

norkmaiden · 04/08/2008 21:13

Rowan definitely

wessexgirl · 04/08/2008 21:08

I would have had Ciaran for a boy. I really like Rowan as well though.

ilovemydog · 04/08/2008 21:07

rowan

PortBlacksandResident · 04/08/2008 21:06

I have a Rowan and he's fab! I think it's a lovely strong name.

chocamocha · 04/08/2008 21:04

That's perfectly allright SilkCutMama

I'm surprised that there are a lot of Kieran's around, I only know two who are both adults.

I have a Kieran and he is a challenging child

So I'd go for Kieran cos they may be challenging but they are lovely too

Rowans are possibly just as lovely but as I don't know any I can't say

SilkCutMama · 04/08/2008 21:03

I'm so sorry but you dis ask - I don't like either - sorry

windyweather · 04/08/2008 21:00

Roan, that my boys name and he is toatlly gorgeous.

chocamocha · 04/08/2008 21:00

Sorry - I actually meant Kieran

I went to school with a Kieran. He was beautiful.

Rowan's popular and I think it's a girl's name.

DorrisMcWhirter · 04/08/2008 20:58

Rowan as Kieran happens to be the name of every 'challenging' child I ever taught at school

Or Ciaran as HPC says.

berolina · 04/08/2008 20:57

Rowan

Piffle · 04/08/2008 20:57

keiron is weird spelling IMO
Kieran or the Gaelic Ciaran is best

bristols · 04/08/2008 20:57

Rowan

HumphreyPinCushion · 04/08/2008 20:57

I prefer Keiron, as my friend has a lovely son called this. He is a very cool dude.
They spell it Ciaran though.

flowerybeanbag · 04/08/2008 20:57

Rowan. Because it's DS's name, so I'm biased.

I would spell the other name Kieran.
