Hello all... I need some help. My DH and I have settled on calling our ds Legend Cougar or Cougar Legend. Which do you like better?

The only other option we will think of is Xander. Thanks for your help.

Isn't 'cougar' the name that phoebe from friends wanted to call one of her brothers triplets? I always thought that was hilarious at the time!

slim22 · 31/07/2008 11:03

if this is not a wind up this must be Gwen Steffani......

Very rock and roll in your circle.

crumpet · 31/07/2008 11:00

If the OP is American then different cultural norms apply and I would guess that she would get away with it. If she's British then my God they're funny.

Made the mistake of trying to watch a movie called the Cougar Club recently. I lasted 5 minutes - it was the tackiest thing I've ever seen, and it would poison that name for me forever I'm afraid...

frazzledoldbag34 · 31/07/2008 10:53

Swedes · 31/07/2008 10:33

bluenosesaint · 31/07/2008 10:32

Its your baby so call him whatever you want. He may not (or then again he may) thank you for it, but hey, there's always deed poll.

As for my opinion ...call him George

edam · 31/07/2008 10:32

Cougar?!!! Blimey I really, really hope this is a wind-up...

Blandmum · 31/07/2008 10:31

This has to be a wind up. This is the worst name suggested sonce someone was thinking of Alias as a name!

HumphreyPillow · 31/07/2008 10:31

Why not have Cougar with a Latin twist - Puma Concolor?

That way he's more likely to get sponsorship from a sports footwear company.

I remember when children were given names as names.

In case your sproglet pops out and doesn't look like a Cougar (some babies aren't too hairy after all), may I suggest you consider...

You have an interesting posting history, Babstefani.

ThatBigGermanPrison · 31/07/2008 10:24

What are you thinking? Don't be so bloody selfish! Screw your head back on and think of the long term implications of this ridiculous whim. You CANNOT call a child Cougar Legend, Legend Cougar, and actually, in reference to an earlier post, Fuckhead is an improvement.

What are you going to do in 16 years time when he screams at you "WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST CALL ME JAMES?????"

They are horrible, horrible names, and everyone will treat him differently because of it - even if it's simply laughing and saying "No, really what's your name?" when he introduces himself.

Really, really. Call him Harry. Or James. Or Danny. Or Muhammed. Something normal.

Maverick ? hmmmm
Wonder if you could get away with yelling that in the supermarket?
Mav, Mav, put those coco pops down?

frazzledoldbag34 · 31/07/2008 10:20

Hee Hee. That's what my dad used to call our neighbours car (we didn't like them).

The Leg-End!
(It was maroon - in case you were wondering!)

And isn't a Ford Cougar a hairdressers car (no offence to hairdressers)
