help me decide luke or ethan

right i have 7 weeks or less (i hope) until baby day and we have finally agreed on two names that we both like

ethan and luke

thoughts please and which would you go for and suggestions for middle names would be appreciated

i do not loove either name but a name that dh and i both like has been awfulto find so it is between these

I'd go for Luke but then again i really don't like Ethan at all. Personally i'd go for Lucas as opposed to Luke.

As far as middle names are concerned I think Alexander goes quite nicely

Luke. I liked this name when I was pg, but dh vetoed it for reasons I can't remember.

I think that with Luke you need a two-syllable middle name. (I am a bit of a freak about making names 'scan' properly, so sorry if this sounds a bit off-the-wall). So (according to my criteria!) you could have both your names and call him Luke Ethan Mustsleep. I'd prefer a middle name starting with a consonant though (to avoid the two names merging into one, sort of like 'Lukythan' ) so maybe something like Luke David, or Luke Peter, or Luke Robert.

If you like Luke-y sounding names, but are not that bothered about Luke, what about Lucas? (Tried that on dh too, but he said it reminded him of spark plugs... there is not pleasing some people!)

Luke ,Ethan was a name i considered 6 yrs ago with dd1 it has become really popular/common since .
Love names beginning with L.Expecting DD3 on the 11th Sept and still have no idea what to call her.

Luke - of the two. But not terribly keen on either - sorry.

Ethan is a getting a bit common.
