Naming a boy - why so hard??

Because I just can't think of any that I like that haven't been used by friends or family.
I like William, Edward, Theo, Simon, David but all have been used. Don't want something too common but also don't want wacky. I have no problem if it's a girl but I'm really stumped for a boy. I'm only a few weeks pregnant but I want to get some names straight in my head.

Any ideas? We have Irish and Italian parents so could be inspired by that. I never thought that I'd post in baby names but here I am

I agree re the office for national statistics list, we avoided the top 50 deliberately.

We also like not common but not wacky, and have a shortlist of Duncan, Dominic and Lawrence, with Elliot as a middle name.

Can't think of any more. I know what you mean though about DH not liking anything. My DH has only proposed my DB's name, his DB's name and his and my DS's name (the same name). GRRRR.

I found this list from National Statistics good
as I wanted something traditional but not too popular so didn't want anything in the top 100.

I chose Robin for my little boy after much discussion it was the only boys name we both liked

I'm liking Bruno - I love Rory but DH really doesn't! Who gave them an opinion??? We have an Edward already so can't relly go for Edmund much as I like it!
