My husband and I can't agree please help us! Ultimately we like all the following names but are going round in circles.....I could be persuaded either way! in need of second opinions!

For boys

Jake
Max
Theo

I think I like Jake best, husband likes Max
Which name would you go for?

For girls

Olivia
Georgia

Jemima

I probably like Olivia best, husband likes Georgia, tho i keep being distracted by jemima, tho maybe short-term distraction (don't know)

Any thoughts on the above, much appreciated!

Theo

Jemima

mavornia · 23/07/2008 19:28

All nice names

I would go for Jake and Jemima (don't really like Mimi though and people would probably shorten it)

Also love Imogen which seems to go with your other names

chandellina · 23/07/2008 19:04

i like all three boy names. My DH is a Jake (not a Jacob) so I am biased probably. I usually go for the formal name but i don't see why Jake can't stand on its own.

For girl's names, Olivia is nicest i think.

where i come from, Jemima is a brand of pancake syrup. (Aunt Jemima).

HonoriaGlossop · 23/07/2008 18:56

Theo and Jessica (nicer than Jemima IMHO )

Jake and Max are on the tweenies, so by default Theo wins it

Jemima was in Playschool - showing my age there, personally I think that Olivia is the prettier of the two remaining names

There we have it, my votes go to.

Jake

and

Olivia

Jake and Jemima

LittleMissBliss · 23/07/2008 18:28

Theo I love this name
I have a Jacob (Coby for short not Jake)
Georgia- I love the songs, Georga on my mind.

Jemima puddle duck springs to mind for me too.
Max is pretty common.

squeaver · 23/07/2008 18:09

I've lost count of the number of Jakes and Olivias I know or have met - don't know if that helps.

Love Max and Jemima

PavlovtheCat · 23/07/2008 18:06

Theo
Georgia

MKG · 23/07/2008 18:04

Jake and Olivia. They are you're favorite names.

Dh and I have an agreement that although he gets input I get full say nad power of veto in what our children are named. When he carries and gives birth he gets to be the offical namer.

nooka · 23/07/2008 17:31

I only really like Theo of your list, although I do like Jacob I'm just not so keen on Jake. Oh and I choose Theodore over just Theo. Nothing wrong with any of the other names, just not my cup of tea.

3littlefrogs · 23/07/2008 17:29

If it is any comfort, ds2 didn't have a name for 2 weeks after he was born because we couldn't agree. You could always wait and see what you get, and what suits him/her.

3littlefrogs · 23/07/2008 17:27

Just looked in my garden - there is a Jacob (aka Jake), a Matthew (Matt), a Steve, 2 Toms, a Jessica, a Hannah, a Lily, and a Rosy.

I like Jacob, shortened to Jake. The one in my garden ATM is a lovely lad, so perhaps I am biased.

Niecie · 23/07/2008 17:22

Boys

Jake - I have a Jacob (aka Jakie and Jake) so am biased - obviously the best!
Max - OK but seems too common for me.
Theo - lovely.

Girls

Olivia - Quite nice
Georgia - a bit too common (as in a lot of them) for me
Jemima - Not sure - in my head I keep adding Puddleduck.

I prefer your boys names to your girls ones generally though but don't dislike any of them.

rosealbie · 23/07/2008 17:20

Theo and Jemima

2point4kids · 23/07/2008 17:19

Olivia and Theo

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/07/2008 17:19

I'd call him Jacob, and shorten to Jake if you want.

I'd add an n and go with Georgina for a girl, and shorten to Georgie.

Olivia is a lovely name, but very common.

FranSanDisco · 23/07/2008 17:18

1st : Max and Georgia
2nd : Theo and Olivia
3rd : Jake and Jemmima
