HELP! I can't find a middle name that goes with Belle, any clever people out there. I don't like anything too wacky. Thanks!

Someone mentioned Evie, is that a common name now? My Dd is Lily and its amazing how many Lily's I came across as soon as I named her that.

All these posts have got me seriously thinking about Belle now..mmm back to the drawing board me thinks!

Can you see why I was struggling?! Its certainly a challenge. I never considered it a wacky name though. Did think about Bella, but I think of Bella Emberg (remember her?!) and the women's magazine with the fabulous top tips!!

This baby naming business is so hard, I didn't struggle like this last time. And as for boy's names...nooo idea!

Please just call her Isabelle/ [Isobel if you want to do the Belle and Sebastian thing)

then you can always shorten it, and you don't have to worry about a middle name that sounds right cos lots of things go with Isabelle.

NorthernLurker · 14/07/2008 20:56

I think you will really struggle with that. i can't think of anything tbh and your daughter will spend her life telling people that Belle isn't short for anything in her case.

HumphreyCushioni · 14/07/2008 20:56

It is a perfectly nice name.
But it's awfully tricky to come up with a middle name that goes with it.
As the OP has found out already.

gigglewitch · 14/07/2008 20:55

oy, OP, can't you call the LO something-Belle and choose to call her by her middle name rather than the first name?
My family have traditions along these lines and it works fine. would save you a whole lot of strife and worry as soooooo many names would go before belle.
Just a thought

savoycabbage · 14/07/2008 20:54

It's a perfectly nice name!

Not everybody can be called Evie, Isabel and Ruby.
