or Heili?

WHY do parents continually want to saddle their children with surnames as forenames?

It's not 'unique' or clever. It's NAFF.

No, that's a god-awful forename, for a male or a female.

olyoly · 11/07/2008 20:43

It sounds a bit masculine for a girl. Perhaps as a middle name?
Keely or Milly or Silly? :0 Heidi is a lovely name, though.

nooka · 11/07/2008 15:03

Children should have real names, and girls should surely have some choice for femininity? Sounds to me like one of those public school/cricket nicknames. I would assume surname and I would assume boy (rugger bugger type in fact). As for Heili!!

Heated · 11/07/2008 14:45

Tim Healey, Dennis Healey, Heeley shoes.

On a girl, nasty.

Keeley?

LaDiDaDi · 11/07/2008 14:37

Horrid.

mamalovesmojitos · 11/07/2008 14:34

heely shoes. sorry but dont do it.

LuLuBai · 11/07/2008 13:30

I'm afraid I can't get beyond the Dennis Healey eyebrows either.

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/07/2008 13:22

it makes me think of feet - not a girls name and not very nice

TheFallenMadonna · 11/07/2008 13:22

I just don't think it looks or sounds very attractive as a first name.

I thin I would probably assume a boy if I saw it on the register.

I thought Denis Healey, too. Not a nice name at all, IMO.

Lemontart · 11/07/2008 13:17

shoes with nasty wheels on that are banned in shopping malls?

Comerscroft · 11/07/2008 13:15

Austin Healy sports car.

solo · 11/07/2008 11:49

violet, 'your gut' is not a nice name for a baby either...well, I thought it was funny.

sitdownpleasegeorge · 11/07/2008 11:09

To be honest it's the most awful artificial christian name suggestion I've heard in a long while. I wouldn't even like it for a boy let alone a girl. Its so unfeminine.

If its a family name stick it in the middle.

What's wrong with Hayley (Hayleigh or Haylee if you must) or Heather ?

Warning - SitDownPleaseGeorge is a fully paid up memeber of THE CAMPAIGN FOR THE USE OF REAL CHRISTIAN NAMES.

violetsmile · 11/07/2008 11:05

Healey as in Fran Healey?? Fantastic name! I personally tend to prefer simple or traditional names but who gives a shit what people on here think?? Call you child whatever you want and don't be put off by a load of anonymous strangers on here! If everyone liked the same names then we'd all be called the same thing so go with your gut I say!

HolidaysQueen · 11/07/2008 10:58

It's the name of a fairly boring part of the fairly boring town I'm from so I don't like it.

Is it a family name? If so I might go with it but only as a middle name. If it's not, then I think there are much prettier names out there.

AtheneNoctua · 11/07/2008 10:54

I used to know a girl whose name was Helin, and was called Heli (rhymes with belly). It is an Estonian name.

AbbeyA · 11/07/2008 10:52

Dreadful! I think Dennis.
I misread the second one as Heidi. Why make up a name-use Heidi or Hayley.

pedilia · 11/07/2008 10:49

I think it is awful!

zippitippitoes · 11/07/2008 10:49

these are all dreadful

Holly is a nice name
