closet Jasper Fforde fan?

LittleMissBliss · 29/07/2008 21:22

I like the name Sunday and Wednesday but would never have the guts to use them myself and dp would think i was trully nuts!

Loriycs · 29/07/2008 21:04

Sunday is ok for a celeb child. Did expect she'd keep up the celeb trend with a name like that. As for Rose as the middle name though....i can almost smell the Yorkshire puddings! (a pretty name otherwise thou)
Its a shame she copied the middle name from her adopted daughter. I think it could be painful for Isabella in a sense, that she continued to be so desparate for her own bio child after having raised two adopted children. Although as a woman i do understand her need but a teen wouldnt see it that way. And then to take her name too.insult to injury so to speak. any thoughts??

I like it.

Not sure it goes that well with surname Urban, but, well

clairebear88 · 23/07/2008 15:50

Hi

I have had a laugh at it but everyone to their own. She is an A-lister so she can get away with it.
I know a friend of a friend who called her dd Truly Scrumptious ( im not joking either ) sad thing was she was a twin and the other dd had a normal name ( cant remember it though ).
I suppose it proves a point as I cant remember the boring name but will never forget the wacky one.
Another friend had sweetheart as a middle name for dd. mmmmmmmmm

Spidermama · 08/07/2008 23:02

I overheard my children giggling and doing funny voices saying the names 'Steve', 'John', and 'Simon'. They find these names comical and ridiculous whereas they'll happily invite Wednesday, Sheherazarde and Coco round for tea.

I LOVE living interesting names. I have a dull one myself.

I like it too...
My Dd's third Christian name is Grace and she was born on a Tuesday...coincidence though, we didn't think of that until a long time after she was born and named. Ds is a Monday's child and he's gorgeous!

frankiesbestfriend · 08/07/2008 20:42

I think it's beautiful.

So there.

JessJess3908 · 08/07/2008 19:37

Summer Barbie for Nicole's DD2?

JessJess3908 · 08/07/2008 19:35

Oops - good point

StealthPolarBear · 08/07/2008 18:36

I too heard it as Sunday ROast

thumbwitch · 08/07/2008 18:30

no, they have sunday roasts in Australia all right. Well some do anyway, as JJ3908 said, NK herself might never have done.

Raahh · 08/07/2008 18:21

Maybe it's an Aussie thing. Perhaps if she has another she could call it G'day (Bruce/Sheila, depending on the sex).

chandellina · 08/07/2008 18:20

Nicole is australian though not american

JessJess3908 · 08/07/2008 18:12

I like it - agree it's slightly wacky but much better than rotten Apple or Piloh Shitt.

Maybe they don't have Sunday Roasts in US? Nicole certainly looks like she's never even smelt a yorkshire pudding.

piratecat · 08/07/2008 14:10

they were peeing themselves on gmtv when penny said 'oh like sunday roast'

Tortington · 08/07/2008 14:09

wednesday - ala adams family?

Tortington · 08/07/2008 14:08

Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

needless to say mine were monday and sunday

i was tuesday and dh was.....thursday.

tis true

thumbwitch · 08/07/2008 14:07

Spidermama, as there is no smiley on your post I guess you must be serious - I thought there for a minute you might be referring to the Addams Family!

Spidermama · 08/07/2008 14:02

I know a really lovely girl from a completely nice and normal family called 'Wednesday'. It really suits her.

DazedEmma · 08/07/2008 14:01

I wish I was famous enough to be ridicously creative with the name of my baby. I'd call her something outragous and she'd be so cool.

Sunday is just stupid, IMO! It's like a holy version of the Addams family!

LuLuMacGloo · 08/07/2008 13:35

Actually for a 'sleb name I think Sunday is rather pretty. Beats the pants off Apple.

MissingMyHeels · 08/07/2008 11:53

I had a temp called Sunday, he was African and said it was a popular name where he was from.

PersephoneSnape · 08/07/2008 11:51

given that this is her first biological dd after widely reported miscarriages, (?) i think she can call her what she bloody well likes. her dd isabella is 15 - i'm not sure if nicole/Tom chose isabella for their dd or whether she arrived already named, but i'm not going to criticise someones choice of name when they've apaprebntly been through a lot of heartache to get to where they are now.

TheMaskedPoster · 08/07/2008 11:41

I like it too, wouldn't have it myself - but it doesn't offend me in the slightest!
