I love Joaquin

Bowddee · 08/07/2008 00:30

Definitely not Diego. Not unless he's going to have Baby Jaguar by his side.
I think Emilio is lovely.

madmarriedNika · 08/07/2008 00:09

Emilio

saggyhairyarse · 07/07/2008 21:18

A friends little boy is Joaquin but no one could spell or pronounce it so he goes by the pronounciation Jo-ah-quinn.

choccypig · 07/07/2008 21:07

Can I throw in Tiago for consideration? Apparently it comes from Santiago, but is a complete name in itself.

ByTheSea · 07/07/2008 21:04

I like all three. My BIL (in NY) is Emilio and he's lovely. My sister calls him Emo for short.

sweetkitty · 07/07/2008 21:03

Emilio for me

Sorry but Go Diego GO has ruined Diego for me

Joaquin is nice but if you live in the UK he will be forever spelling it.

OurHamsterisevil · 07/07/2008 20:59

I like Joaquin best. Diego def reminds me of Dora too.

LadySnotAlot · 07/07/2008 18:28

Emilio sounds lovely

Takver · 07/07/2008 18:12

I would probably choose Joaquin myself if you are in the UK, Emilio is lovely but I wonder if it is too similar to Emily & might lead to teasing problems?

hattyyellow · 07/07/2008 18:10

Emilio

peanutbutterkid · 07/07/2008 18:10

I like Joaquin (I grew up near Mexico).
I think English tongues would handle Diego best, though.
Mind you, Emilio Estevez has done well with his name.

katz · 07/07/2008 18:09

love diego but then this is a dora household

Tas1 · 07/07/2008 18:07

Diego

MKG · 07/07/2008 18:05

Diego makes me think of "Dora the Explorer" and "Go, Diego, Go". which is why dh has gotten some vetoes on that one.

Well as bilingual as a soon to be 3 yo and just turned 1 yo can be.

I assume the children are billingual and so spelling won't be an issue? Otherwise Emilio,. Diego has been used in a not so nice stereotype sort of a way, all wrong but true.

MKG · 07/07/2008 18:00

Oh yes Emilio Estevez is so yummy and so is Joquin Phoenix. (pretty good on the pronunciation there)

Emilio is lovely.

TheFallenMadonna · 07/07/2008 17:57

Emilio

LuckySalem · 07/07/2008 17:56

That makes sense then, In that case I think Emilio just cos of Emilio Estevez [yummy]

How do you pronounce joaquin? Is that that (i'm gonna butcher this now) wakeen pheonix man?
