Is Francis too feminine sounding?

It's nice
It's definitely not feminine.
Of course Francis is the male name and Frances is the female however it fits nicely with the current gender neutral fashion.

I did have a colleague would talk about her partner...."Francis is working from home today..." "Frances made a lovely cottage pie..." "I fancied France for holidays but Francis isn't keen." "Frances and I went to a brilliant show."
Months later I realised that I didn't know if it was a male or female partner and had to quietly ask someone else in the kitchen!

I think I got confused because I've never met a man Francis. Lots of Franks though so definitely weigh up if it's going to peeve you if anyone calls him Fran(k)(ie).

After I did find out in my mind he became "Man Francis" but that's just because my friend's mum used to have a cat called "Man Kathleen".

A colleague has a small Francis and I think it’s weird every time I hear it. Perhaps more because it’s so dated/ religious connotations rather than because it’s feminine.
