Wondered if anyone knew anyone with these names and what they think of them

Sorrel, Elowen, Manon (pronounced Welsh way.

Two syllable surname.

Also what goes well as a middle name. Family names don’t really suit and have been used apart from Mai (pronounced My)

I usually like botanical names but Sorrel isn't really doing it for me. Maybe because it sounds very like sorrow or sorry. Not sure. I prefer Sage or Saffron

What is the Welsh pronunciation of Manon?

MyManinCaracas · 28/08/2026 19:24

I suppose Elowen or Manon, but not Sorrel; I always think of a pig. I’m not sure why.

How does the Welsh pronunciation of Manon differ from the French pronunciation?

ExquisiteSocialSkills · 28/08/2026 19:23

Sorrel or Manon.

I love all three. Delightful names. If pushed I would go with Sorrel but they're all nice.

Neither sorry

InkyWink · 28/08/2026 19:19

Really not keen on any of them, sorry.
