I have a toddler called Camille and am looking for a sibling name to match. We do not know if we are having a boy or a girl yet. Any suggestions?

@Wherethedogsits , I know one and she says it as 'Sab-een' but her family is German and she's officially 'Za-been-eh'.
I wouldn't say she was elegant but she's great.

@Wherethedogsits , Oh I met a Sabine recently. That might be nice with Camille. I like it but would you say it as Sab-een or as Zab-een-uh?

Love the arguments about ops already born child’s name...
I find it strange how some insist they are right when they are so obviously not.

The one that I met pronounced her name as Sab-een. She was very elegant and it really suited her.

I have a little Camille (girl) but the other two Camilles I know who are 2 and 3 year olds are boys so the person who asked is valid- we live in South East France.
If you are looking for a French theme the really popular names here at the moment seem to be, Gabriel, Eden, Leo for boys and girls Louise (by a country mile every class in my children’s crèche and maternelle has at least two), Alba, Jade (pronounced with a soft J and short A) or Ava (also pronounced with a short A sound).
I love Sylvie but it’s definitely an older lady name here.

Estelle or Thibault.

Love the arguments about ops already born child’s name. @GG300 have you checked to see if your toddlers is male or female and to ask if you are pronouncing their name correctly?

Especially since it's pronounced the same either way, and examples were given 🤣

Cocktailsandcheese · 14/08/2026 20:55

How about Daphne, Ines or Sophie for a girl.

For a boy, how about Hugo, Julian or Otis?

I was the one who asked originally - I felt it would be a useful insight into OP’s taste to make suggestions! 🤷🏻‍♀️ She hasn’t been back so it’s entirely academic.

I don’t think it’s an argument when several posters are just flatly wrong but I’ve tried to be polite about it Grin

”Cam-ee” (Camil) would be a boy’s name. “Cam-eel” (Camille) is the feminine version.

Are you looking for other Frenxh

Erm no Ca-meeyuh is the correct pronunciation - Cameeeel is just wrong.
