• Zenith •

I named my boy it earlier this year, it’s a gender neutral name meaning the highest point in the sky.
Just posting this as a name suggestion to others who may not of heard of it before.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Mousespoons · 01/08/2026 23:50

I guess equinox or halcyon kind of go on the same bracket

kkloo · 01/08/2026 23:49

Screams boy name to me, not gender neutral.

Mousespoons · 01/08/2026 23:48

Anyone suggested balonz or jimberley yet as an alternative?

Mymyi · 01/08/2026 23:47

What is a "gender neutral" name?

You will have a little boy or a little girl. Some people need to go on parenting classes.

it sounds like a photocopier to me but if you like it .

I hope his middle name is 3000.

KnickerlessParsons · 01/08/2026 23:39

Zenith and Nadir

Suggestion for sibling name: Maverick, nn Mav.
Or Ace. I have actually met two (boy) children called Ace. One in a v middle class Hampshire town, and the other in the hillbilly south of NZ.

“God knows I love you Jen, you’ve given me my two beautiful children - Zenith and Qasar”

this is a comedy sketch from The IT Crowd

I’d have gone with Zenith and Nadir.

Why do so many people want wacky made-up names these days? What was wrong with just choosing from the big menu of real names?

Zenith has vibes of kitchen appliance for me. All shiny and chrome, perhaps with a faint electrical hum.

It makes them seem interesting and alternative, I suppose.

Will the next one be Nadir?

Dammit I was going to ask that.
🤣

SpottyAlpaca · 01/08/2026 23:04

1980s car.

“What are you driving at the moment, Gary?”
“I’ve got a Ford Zenith 1.6 GLX. Lovely motor. Top of the range”.

Zov · 01/08/2026 22:59

I think we have all missed one salient piece of information on here. The OP has ALREADY called her son Zenith. Blush #awkward

No wonder she hasn't been back on the thread since her first post! 😬

Beowulf is better.

😂

Isitholidayyet · 01/08/2026 22:53

It’s an awful name

JuliettaCaeser · 01/08/2026 22:50

Think I prefer Moon Unit to Zenith. Sounds like a naff company name. They wont thank you at 13.

Notaninfluencertype · 01/08/2026 22:49

I have taught a couple of boys named Zenith. I wouldn’t say it’s gender neutral, they were both really nice and really intelligent, let’s hope yours follows suit.

Leavesandthings · 01/08/2026 22:46

Like Kenneth, but with a Z

Yes - I realised this is why Zenith is a boys name on my mind

Daffodilsinthespring · 01/08/2026 22:49

I can’t get past the double glazing.

SophiaSW1 · 01/08/2026 22:46

If I hear zenith I have to say windows. So it would be a no

Ohnobackagain · 01/08/2026 22:46

Sorry @Clorose made me think of the double glazing company

Leavesandthings · 01/08/2026 22:46

I feel like people on here pretty much poo poo every name except Christopher nn Kit and Charlotte. My experience is that names that might have been considered wacky in the past are now very normal. Zenith seems like a fine name, certainly unusual but not the most out there.

Although Wren seems to be suggested on every single thread, for some reason.
