Husband and I both like Leo for our first baby. Don’t know any but we have very limited exposure to children. Have now seen its number 3 out of 100 top baby names!!! For people with new babies, young kids in nursery or school… how many Leo’s are you coming across?

It's a wonderful name. Love it! Who cares if it's popular?! Sophia is a popular name from the last 6-7 years, and my friend's daughter wanted to call her DD this but was worried there was too many girls with this name - this was 6-7 years ago.

She's in a primary school now with 500 pupils. Not one single Sophia, only her!

So call him Leo if you want to @User1815

I have come across 5, but tbh seen just as many if not more of Alex, Rory, Felix, Lucas, Elodie, Aurora, Arabella, Maeve and Olive which are all lower in the charts!

It’s a very standard boy’s name. I like it, DS’s best friend at pre-school was Leo. But yes there are lots around.

I run baby and toddler groups and there's usually one Leo in each class. So it is popular but not madly so. I always say to parents that the reason why popular names are popular is that they're nice names. I appreciate not wanting to have a child who shares their name with 5 others in their school year, but if you like it, go for it.
