| am pregnant, due in November and we have just round out we are expecting another precious boy! We already have a little boy called Vinnie, and I am 80% on the name Stanley for our next!

My DH is sold on the name, l am just second guessing as I know no other Stanley's, and was wondering if there was a reason...?
what are people's thoughts?

I know an 8 year old Stanley. It’s a nice name.

I like it! Goes really well with Vinnie.

There was a rise in newborns called Stanley around me about 10-15 years ago. I'd say it was in the original batch of retro names to make a comeback (think Arthur, Albert, Seth, Florence, Elsie, Edith etc). Now there are so many vintage names to have name a comeback that Stanley seems to have slipped back a bit again in usage, probably because it feels more 'mainstream' again, so those searching for 'something different' aren't as likely to pick it anymore. That's not a bad thing!

You both like it, so go for it 👍🏼

You'll make the name your own, OP. I like it and considered it.

My youngest DC had a classmate named Stanley who was... a thug. Definitely not a posh name in my mind, any more! But Stan Laurel was a lovely man.

I knew a family 20 or so years ago with a Stanley, Rose and Alfred - always thought that was a lovely combination!

My son’s middle name. Love it. We know 2 other Stan’s.

I’ve come across a couple of Stanleys. It’s cute and definitely goes with Vinnie. Lots of similar names like that around, I know two Ernies and a million Teddys!

I like the name Stanley and it goes well with your other DS name. My DD went to school with a Stanley, but she's 25 now, so it's never really been out of fashion.
