Dd nearly a week old and still no name.struggling to choose one. We have the middle name Iris and a one syllable surname. Need a first name. Quite like Lottie but high up the popularity list and would want a longer name I think shortened to Lottie but don't like Charlotte. Other contender was Liliana (shortened to Lily) but again very popular and would be 2 flowers together with the middle name.

Having always disliked Harper dp mentioned it in passing and I love it but he isn't now liking it.

I'm starting to find the whole thing so stressful now when it should be fun. Just want us to decide upon a name for her so we can announce her arrival properly and start using it and getting used to it ahead of our registration appointment next week. I just look at her and she's this perfect little thing that deserves a name that acknowledges how precious she is! Any help appreciated.

@Phoenix321 beautiful name, my Cousins DD is Liliana. She uses Ana (as in frozen Aaaanah) as a nn rather than Lily. Congratulations

Dorothea -Dottie
Ottilea -Ottie

Have you decided yet? Lotte like in Denmark? Mette like in Norway? Carlotta?

Yes we went for Liliana Iris in the end😊

Are you completely devoid of self-awareness?
😆😆😆😆

Huh?
I have no idea what you are on about.

I'm not arguing.
Just saying that those two words don't sound anything like each other 😂

@Needmorelego , I doubt that OP is pronouncing Liliana as Lil-ayna so it doesn't matter, but you are just arguing for the sake of it and I was only clarifying someone else's post.

Liliana is lovely and sounds nothing like anus!

Lottie is absolutely a nickname not a full name.

It is a diminutive used as a full name in itsown right. A nickname would be something like Spud, Nugget, Bean etc etc.

LivingTheDreamish · 23/07/2026 17:32

oh that’s a lovely name!

Very bizarre post.
Anus sounds exactly like aynuh's.

There's no "S" on the end of "aynuh" though.
Some people really do like to make up nonsense about not using names because it might sound like something else completely unconnected.

@Phoenix321 I think the name is lovely.

"aynuh" sounds nothing like anus though 🤷
Very bizarre thinking.

She was referring to Liliana pronounced as lil-aynuh.
Lilaynuh's lil anus.

Well, you must be proununcing it totally differently as I really can't see how you can come up with that!!! There are no T's in the name for a start . . . .

Thank you all. We went for Liliana Iris in the end. After trying out both names just felt that one suited her better!

That's so pretty! Many congratulations!

Lottie and Lily are both lovely names you really don't need to worry about lengthening it

Congratulations OP! Another vote for Carlotta Iris - she can be Lottie day to day.

Norastroud · 21/07/2026 18:32

Congratulations on your baby girl!
I do like Charlotte and also Ottilie shortened to Lottie.
Also love Lily, i like Lillian as a longer version but think Lily is a great name on its own. I know it’s meant to be really popular but I only know 2 little ones under the age of 3.
Molly King’s daughter is called Liliana which is very pretty too.

goodluck!

SuperGinger · 20/07/2026 22:42

I love Carlotta so much better than Charlotte

smallgreenandsplitthreeways · 20/07/2026 22:31

Firebird83 · 20/07/2026 21:45

Liselotte “Lottie”?
