Which in your opinion is the poshest name? Oscar, George, Henry, Max, or Leo?

I would say George and Henry are classics that have always been in fashion

I’m not trying to be posh…I’m just curious. Just intrigued after a conversation I had a colleague about how they view names and how they judged them…hadn’t even crossed my mind until then!

I note that on another thread you said you already have a Leo and a Henry. Are you questioning your naming decisions and wish you’d gone for something that others think sound ‘posh’?

None of them sound posh, they are just bog standard boy names. You could throw a stone and hit two Oscar’s, Max’s or Henry’s near me. Leo less common but not close to sounding posh

KilkennyCats · 05/07/2026 16:30

There’s a lot more to being posh than a name, op.
If you have to try this hard…

Namesnamesnames13 · 05/07/2026 16:30

Just curiosity

None of them. They’re just regular boys names.

Blimms · 05/07/2026 16:25

None of them, they’re pretty bog standard names. I have come across them often at the school I work in which is definitely not posh.

Nickyknackered · 05/07/2026 16:20

Gosh the whole baby names page is full of you asking the same question about the same names. Curious why not one thread with one conversation with all your ideas together?

I wouldnt aay any oif those are posh. They are pretty standard boys names who are currently in high school.

MrsKateColumbo · 05/07/2026 16:19

None of them, they are all just normal Boy names in DS and DD's class. Maybe they were posh a generation ago but now they are just popular boys names

hyggetyggedotorg · 05/07/2026 16:18

George I suppose. But why? Do you want “posh” or are you trying to avoid it?

Miranda65 · 05/07/2026 16:16

I have a view, but I'm intrigued as to why it matters? Someone who is genuinely "posh" would never use that actual word (they would say "smart"), and really wouldn't care.
