Thoughts on Saul for a boy? We'd be pronouncing it like Paul but with an S. I do not like the sah-ool pronunciation.

I like it. Saul is much fresher than Paul, as all of the Pauls that I know are at least 30 years old. (To be clear, I do like Paul. It was just very common for many years.) What a difference one letter can make!

It is nice and fairly uncommon. Do you realise it’s biblical meaning? Look up King Saul and Paul the Apostle if not.

I love it and if I didn’t have a mild lisp DS
would have been called it. And I can’t imagine anyone pronouncing it other than like Paul.

No one is called Saul. Even Saul wasn't called Saul for long.

Surely how OP plans to say it is the normal way? I have never heard it pronounced any other way.

Rhyming with Paul is the English pronunciation. Sah-ool is the Spanish pronunciation. Your preferred pronunciation with be fine, OP (unless you live in Spain).
