Thoughts on using this name for a girl in the UK especially if you have it / have used it

we have Austrian and Spanish family so would like a classic and elegant name that is easily recognisable in English German and Spanish.

other names that we like but not quite right: Helena, Clara, Diana

Is it familiar enough in the UK? Does it lend itself to bullying nicknames?

I think it is really pretty. Not overused, but recognisable.

For me, the French spelling seems the most natural, but I know some people find it easier to leave off any accents if spelling for the UK/America.

One Of DD’s friends is called that, has a Spanish parent. Can’t see why it be a target for bullying anymore than any other name! I think it’s spelt with an E occasionally by people that haven’t heard/seen it written down before, but that aside it’s a lovely name imo.

Known in the UK but can be Inés (Spanish) or Inès (French) and the diacritic might be omitted.
I like it.

Might get mixed up with Innes (boy's name) or said as Eye-ns.

Is it familiar enough in the UK? It wouldn't be weird.
Does it lend itself to bullying nicknames? No.

i think she might have to keep pronouncing and spelling her name which could be tedious for her!!

I llove the name Clara, it always reminds me of The Nutcracker ballet!!

It's beautiful I know a 6 year old Inés she has a Spanish mother and English father they live in the UK. She hasn't had any issues with pronunciation.

I absolutely love it. I know one who is 6 - she has Spanish heritage and speaks it Inez. I’m not aware of any issues with pronunciation and (certainly in London) it’s not seen as unfamiliar at all.

Love the name, it’s spelt Inès in French, not sure about other languages.

I've known a couple of women with this name. Seems fairly innocuous unless you're in Scotland, then it might get easily confused (in spoken English) with the boy's name Innis. But that's a relatively minor concern really.
