Are there any K names that are not tacky?

Are there any feminine K names that are more traditional and old-fashioned? I really dislike modern and trendy sounding names. I also dislike C names that have recently been turned into K names. The Kylie, Kaylee, Kadence, Kallie, Kinley, Kaitlyn, Krystal, Karly, Khloe, Kenzie type of names are not for me. They're all very similar in style to me, and I just find them to be tacky. They also feel very mean girl/bully. (This won't make sense to everyone, but I'm sure some will know what I mean.)

An example of a name that I do like is Katherine, but there are simply too many in the family. I also like just plain Kay, but it seems a bit underwhelming as a first name. It's more often a middle name and shortening of other K names. Karen is no longer a possibility for obvious reasons...

I dont understand why people are suggesting names that have already been suggested multiple times?

I think we can probably say we’ve now run out of names beginning with K.

If you think that's passive-agressive, you mustn't have spent much time on MN 😂 seriously though, I made a pretty reasonable comment. Do you not think there can be more than one correct spelling of a name?

Do you not think there can be more than one correct spelling of a name?
Are Carl and Karl, Carol and Carole, Kirsty and Kirstie, Graeme and Graham, or Louis and Louie the same name?
How about Jackson and Jaxon or Jayden and Jadon?

seriously though, I made a pretty reasonable comment. You issued "a polite reminder" in a manner that was interpreted as passive-aggressive or 'superior'.

Because the thread is 12 pages long.

True but also can’t believe people think nobody has heard of the name Kate! 🤣

WaitingForMojo · 12/06/2026 22:20

Kate
Keziah
Karina
Kirsten
Kristin
Kimberly

There’s nothing really with the vibe you’re looking for. It’s Katherine (which I’m not a fan of) or another letter!

To demonstrate to the OP that they agree. It will help the OP assess popularity, should that matter to her.

Well I suppose so but thats not how it reads …see the post below yours!

jocktamsonsbairn · 12/06/2026 21:24

Kirsty - classic and Scottish. Win win!

LaJacondeFumantLaPipe · 12/06/2026 21:24

Kitty or Kirsty? Maybe Kristina? At work we have Kaley, Karen. Kathryn, Katie, Kelly and Kerry

Heggettypeg · 12/06/2026 21:17

Kennethina. Old-fashioned Scottish?

Kirree. Manx. I think it means a sheep, but it's also a girl's name.

arlequin · 12/06/2026 21:14

Kezia

Scarbsbeach · 12/06/2026 21:07

Kinvara - it’s an Irish place name, but is also used as a girl’s name. I have met one girl with that name, I think it is lovely and unusual.

TeaCupTinsel · 12/06/2026 20:50

Karenza (lovely Cornish name!)

@LiquoriceAllsorts2 , It's Kez-eye-ah but the Kez-ya pronunciation seems to be taking over. It's from the Bible.

@ERthree , Kirra, a Gaelic name. Only used if they have dark hair as it means dark lady. That's Ciara (Keira).
Kirra is native Australian (?)

@NashEnquirer , Also, just a polite reminder that there can be more than one "correct" spelling of a name And a polite reply saying that your post seems passive aggressive. Smile

The use of Karen is a misogynistic, ageist slur. Well done..

It’s also a perfectly nice name beginning with a K.

I know a Kariss

Oncemorewithsome · 12/06/2026 20:16

Keira, Katerina, Kara

With Kathleen I can't think of a diminutive except Kath and perhaps Lena?
I know a Kay and a Katy.

Anything that can be short for Katherine can be short for Kathleen. I've known Kats and Kates and at least one Kay who were officially Kathleen.
