What was the first name of the nicest person / people you've lost touch with from primary schooldays?

I will start with Jane. Best friend for three years then her parents got jobs in another city. We wrote to each other for about ten years.

My best friend at primary school was called Emma. We were really close and stayed close after I changed schools cos she lived in my street but a few years later her parents split up, she moved away with her Mum. I asked her to write to me but I never saw or heard from her again. I heard she went off the rails in her teens. But have no idea how/where she is now.

Sophie, we went to different high schools and it was before mobile phones so we lost touch! She was a lovely girl I hope she’s had a great life!

I moved around quite a bit as a kid so there are a few. I think the three who stand out are Lucy, who I did randomly bump into and reconnect with about 15 years after leaving school. We exchange messages now and again these days which is lovely. The other is Angharad, completely lost touch with her, can't even remember her last name. Would be so lush to hear about her life, she got me through some rough days at school. Finally Sawsen, we kept in touch till mid-20's but then geography and life choices got in the way.

There are two: Imogen and Sinead. I have often wondered what happened to them.

Her name was Deborah.

Susan, who moved to Canada, and Catherine, who moved to Norfolk. Kept in touch with both for about 10 years afterwards, but lost touch during the late teenage wilderness years.

Blackbird2409 · 09/06/2026 22:43

Elaine, friends as soon as we started primary school. I moved away when I was roughly 12 and she came to visit me and vice versa. Lost touch then, very sadly. Have looked for her on facebook etc but no luck.

Samantha was lovely. We walked to school together for 7 years. Drifted when we went to different colleges. We have each other added on Facebook and she looks to be living a wonderful life.

Susan. We moved away. Stayed in touch until we were about 12.
