What does the name Julian make you think of, what overall vibe does it present, etc.?

It’s a fabulous name. Love it for a boy

comoatoupeira · 07/06/2026 09:37

Posh and not very attractive

MyCloak · 07/06/2026 09:37

For a boy, Julian in the Famous Five. Supposedly responsible and mature with pleasant manners, but actually repellently patronising, managerial and sexist, and almost certainly grew up to be a Reform councillor.

For a girl, Julian of Norwich. Medieval anchoress responsible for the first surviving texts written in English by a woman. V cool.

Griselinia · 07/06/2026 09:27

Long white fingers.

jessicablu · 07/06/2026 09:26

A middle class, middle aged man, wearing corduroy trousers and a colourful neckerchief.

Berlinlover · 07/06/2026 08:43

Posh and gay. I have a lovely cousin named Julian, a little bit posh and not gay.

Wimpod · 07/06/2026 08:37

Yeah famous five for me. 😄

I do know an adult one, mostly gets called Jules.

I'd say he's not a stereotypical Julian TBF.

DappledThings · 07/06/2026 08:35

Roman empire
Barnes
Famous Five
Good strong name due for a comeback.

A858 · 07/06/2026 08:32

Tall, dark, confident, handsome, but that’s because I think of the actor Julian McMahon

Silverbirchleaf · 07/06/2026 08:28

Posh and blond also.

NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoByAgain · 07/06/2026 08:27

A twat

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 07/06/2026 07:48

Posh and effeminate.

TheyGrewUp · 07/06/2026 07:44

It was of my era. I knew lots of Julians growing up and at work. They were, without exception, very nice, hardworking types. To be fair all middle class. I think it's a great name and due a comeback. Their friends were: Jeremy, Tim, John, Simon, Phil, etc.

Thatcannotberight · 07/06/2026 07:37

I just think of Julian Cope from Teardrop Explodes. He's quite interesting.

King Julien from Madagascar

This!

Amiacoolorwarmcolour · 07/06/2026 06:53

Posh and very arty.
Tall with floppy hair.

Conchiglie · 07/06/2026 06:51

To me Julian sounds like a mature, sensible kind of boy. I like it.

Sally2791 · 07/06/2026 06:41

Famous five

HoraceCope · 07/06/2026 06:38

agree, posh, blonde and wet
although i do know two and one isnt posh or wet and the other one is not wet either. but they are both blonde!

GTTSR · 07/06/2026 06:19

Julian Fawcett from Ghosts - a posh Tory MP who died in a scandal and doomed to spend all of eternity as a trouserless poltergeist. He’s my favourite character 😂

menopausequeen · 07/06/2026 06:14

Not good ones

Clickrodio · 07/06/2026 05:54

Not a nice person but I know a Julian in real life and I don’t like him.

JuliettaCaeser · 07/06/2026 05:53

I think gay. Maybe because of Julian clary?

TheMillionthBeautyAddict · 07/06/2026 05:49

King Julien. Julian Clary.

SparklyGlitterballs · 07/06/2026 05:49

Yeah, a bit upper class, posh. A bit effeminate. The two that come immediately to mind are Assange and Clary.
