My mum's name. I love it but for some reason lots of people call her Helen and she doesn't correct them.

Only taught one Ellen in my long career. She was an absolute delight so positive memories.
I agree with PP in the north people may wrongly assume Helen.
My cousin named her baby Hannah. We were told of the birth by an elderly aunt saying “ she’s called her Anna with an aitch” Hannah then!
Lovely name.

Not a fan personally. Old fashioned and severe.
Depending where you are people could assume it’s Helen (Helen and Ellen would be pronounced same in some northern towns)
Usual Nickname is Nellie which I’m not keen on.

Lovely name op, and not very many about.

I’d advise you to keep any name you love to yourself though, someone will only ruin it for you and render it unusable.
Far harder for them to make negative comments once you present baby already named ime!
