Trinity?

What do you think of the name Trinity for a girl? Our other child has a name that also starts with the letter T, so I do worry that people will assume we were intentionally trying to make their names match. I’m probably overthinking it.

You'll have to teach her to eat beans and be quick on the draw, but she'll have a fab theme song

Prostitute. Sorry. It's awful.

Wynter25 · 14/06/2026 12:32

Awful

Tara is an excellent and smarr choice.

Tara is great, one of my friend’s (actually older sister of a friend) is called this.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 14/06/2026 12:30

Holy as middle name?!

SardinesOnButteredToast · 14/06/2026 12:24

Like Trinity Santos in The Pitt? Lovely name, horrible character.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 14/06/2026 11:53

Nah

Makes me think Trinity Dingle

I like it but it's also a shopping centre in Aberdeen which I immediately think of.

Amiacoolorwarmcolour · 06/06/2026 08:19

The Matrix.

Lifelover16 · 05/06/2026 14:50

Is she one of three?
Aside from the religious meaning, Trinity is a synonym with trio or triad.

I don’t particularly like it, it sounds you are trying too hard for something unusual.

BrimfulofSacha · 05/06/2026 14:38

My first thought was of the “famous” drag queen…. Clearly not that famous though considering I’m the only one who made the connection

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 28/05/2026 16:28

Christ. That’s awful.

Mischance · 27/05/2026 13:54

Gosh ... it's really horrid. Please don't saddle her with that!

Constantly? Hmm

Yes "constantly" sounds slightly more like a sort of embarrassment ...

I’m also in Ireland and the Holy Trinity came first, before TCD or The Matrix.

It makes me imagine a toddler being followed around by a testy-looking beardy man, a thirtysomething pointing to his nail holes, and a large dove.

I’m taking this as a sign that I am totally recovered from my Irish Catholic upbringing. Only took 50 years to shake off the guilt

Love it. Have a friend called trinity, she is constantly complimented upon her name.

I picture a spoilt blonde American mean girl (think Regina George) when I hear or see Trinity. I cannot imagine a nice person having this name for some reason. It also reads as very American to me.

WaterWonky · 27/05/2026 10:06

Trinity Mirror

It seems to come from the Latin for a group of 3, and is defined as such in the Oxford dictionary.

I suppose it depends on how the people you interact with use it. I am in Ireland, so maybe it’s different, but holy trinity was a long way down the list of things that popped into my head.

DorisTheFinkasaurus · 27/05/2026 10:02

It is a name in reference to the Holy Trinity and I'd give that serious consideration. That is its meaning and if you're not a believer in or follower of Christianity, it might not be the right name.

Wannabegreenfingers · 27/05/2026 09:55

On a side note, my mum and me had the same initials. It was a pain in the backside as I got older and letters were addressed to A B Surname. Never knew who's mail I was opening. Obviously easier if they put Miss/Mrs, but not always the case. I'd avoid having the same initials for family living at the same house.

@Tabarnak , Unity, Duality, Trinity, Quaternity, Quinternity, Sexternity, Septernity, Octernity, Novernity ...

@wafflesmgee , I agree with you.

wafflesmgee · 26/05/2026 23:22

Dislike. Chavvy in my opinion and it’s not a name… although it does give computer game character vibes…
